A Study Of Dialect And Grammar In Zhao Shuli's Novels

Zhao Shuli,an important writer of the "Chinese yam egg" school,narrated many folk stories based on the local conditions and customs of Shanxi Province,especially the southeast of Shanxi Province.In his novels,he extracts a large number of Shanxi dialects,which are not only close to the farmers' life,but also full of local flavor and more regional color.The use of dialect in Zhao Shuli's literary works is also an important feature of his literary style.Previous studies on Zhao Shuli's works mainly focused on literary appreciation or vocabulary application.This paper takes Zhao Shuli's twenty-five novels,such as "The Marriage of Xiao erhei","San Li wan" and "The Changes of Li Jia Zhuang",as the research object,studying the dialect grammar in Zhao Shuli's novels from two aspects of morphology and syntax.By comparing with Putonghua,this paper sums up the grammatical features of its novel dialect language.This paper is divided into six parts:The first part is the introduction,mainly introduces Zhao Shuli's life and works;the attribution of the novel dialect,the research status of Zhao Shuli's novels,research status of dialects in literary works and the research status of Shanxi Jin dialects.It describes the purpose and significance,the research contents,methods and sources corpus of this paper.The study of Zhao Shuli's novels in academic circles seldom starts with dialect grammar,it has great significance to study dialect grammar in his novels.The second part is the study of dialect parts of speech in Zhao Shuli's novels,it can be divided into dialect verbs,adverbs,auxiliary words and modal words.Dialect verbs are divided into monosyllabic verbs,two-syllable verbs;adverbs are analyzed from three aspects:modality,degree and time;the study of dialect particles mainly analyzes "Ba" and"Lai";The study of modal particles is mainly about the use of modal particles at the end of sentences.There are many verbs and adverbs,which are more expressive and add the local color of the novel language.The auxiliary word "Ba" means "completion",while "Lai"means "approximate number and … Since".Modal particles can be used not only at the end of a sentence to express questions,the speaker's feelings,but also in the sentence to indicate the pause.The third part is the study of dialect reduplication in Zhao Shuli's novels,it mainly includes reduplicated noun,reduplicated verb,reduplicated adjective and reduplicated onomatopoeia.These forms of reduplication are rich,ingenious and distinctive.Compared with Putonghua,they have many similarities and differences.The fourth part is the research on the "aspect" system of dialect in Zhao Shuli's novels.It mainly includes Achievement aspect,Experiential aspect,Durative aspect,Progressive aspect.Achievement aspect markers include "Xia","Shang" and "Zhu",Experiential aspect markers include "Lai" and "Guo",Durative aspect markers include " Zhu " and " Shang ",Progressive aspect markers include " Li".The fifth part is the study of sentence patterns in Zhao Shuli's novels.The study of sentence patterns mainly consists of repeated interrogative sentences,Jiao constructions,enumerative sentence patterns and non-subj ect-predicate sentences composed of interjections.Repeated questions are mainly divided into "V+not+V" and "VP+Ya+VP"negative form,in the former,the object of the second verb can be omitted,expressing a euphemistic mood.The Jiao constructions lists the meanings of "causative meaning" and"passive meaning".Among them,t Jiao constructions which expresses "causative meaning"includes three meanings:"causative order","permissive" and "causative".The forms of enumeration are abundant,and the ordinal number is used as the related words,which makes the narration of the novel more concise and orderly.The non-subject-predicate sentences composed of interjectives express various mood emotions of the speaker in the dialogue.The last part is the conclusion.The conclusion part summarizes the classification of dialect grammar in the novel;This paper briefly summarizes the linguistic characteristics of Zhao Shuli's novels:one is unpretentious,the other is vivid;Based on the previous study of dialect grammar in Zhao Shuli's novels,this paper summarizes the use of dialect in his novels,which is conducive to shaping the characters,enriching the narrative content and studying the significance of dialect grammar in his works.This paper mainly analyzes the corpus of Zhao Shuli's novels,summarizes the grammar of the dialects used in them,and compares it with the relevant language phenomena in Putonghua,so as to summarize the characteristics of Shanxi dialect grammar in his works and provide reference for other relevant researches.At the same time,the shortcomings of this paper are also discussed.
