A Study On The Artistic Characteristics Of The Drum-kicking Yangko In Northern Shanxi

Yangge dance is not only a symbol of Chinese culture and art,a witness to the development of 5,000 years of civilization in China,but also a crystallization of the wisdom of the Chinese nation.Shanxi Province has a developed economy and a prosperous culture and art.It is known as the hometown of folk songs and dance.According to scholars,there are as many as 234 types of folk dances.Among them,the most well known ones are the Kick Drums Yangge in the north area,the Flower Drum in the middle area,and the Flowers in the south area,which have been added into college textbooks in China.The Kick Drums Yangge was made as an Intangible Cultural Heritage in Shanxi Province in 2006.According to limited record,it emerged in the late Song Dynasty.People did the dance in the Yuan and Ming Dynasties,and developed it in the Qing Dynasty.However,it eventually became prosperous after the foundation of the new China.It develops unique artistic style after such a long time of revolution.Nowadays,people Datong,Shuozhou,Shenchi and Pianguan in Shanxi Province,and Qingshuihe,Guyan in Inner Mongolia Province do the dance the most.In recent years,Chinese people have an increasing artistic aesthetics for Kick Drums Yangge,with ever improving living standards.Kick Drums Yangge performance appears more often in traditional temple fairs,festivals and cultural exchange performances,and receives board public attention.This is a meaningful promotion of Chinese folk dance and culture.The author of this thesis did literature review of the study of Kick Drums Yangge,visited the relevant area,and studied the local performance and the related theories,courses and stuides,including dance ecology,forklore,and the National Art Fund Talent Training Project orga.
