The Kick Drum Yangko originates in the north of Shanxi Province as a dance unique to the land of Shanxi.With a long history and an ancient form,this widespread art depicts the cultural landscape of northern Shanxi by use of a distinctive dance language.The Kick Drum Yangko is an important part of folk dance in Shanxi,and has been declared as a national intangible cultural heritage in recent years.This reflects its huge cultural value and its great significance to mirroring the thousands of years of Shanxi's folklife and the local people's spirit and wisdom.Through a field survey of the traditional Kick Drum Yangko and a personal investigation of the derivative ecological Kick Drum Yangko,this paper presents the development status and reproduction value of the current derivative ecological Kick Drum Yangko,and explores the better development direction for the derivative ecological yangko,with a view to seeking a better stage for the survival and development of Kick Drum Yangko.The derivative ecological Kick Drum Yangko with its emergence not only has training value,artistic value and cultural value,but also carries great heritage value.As development also means conservation,developing derivative ecological Kick Drum Yangko is a way of conserving this dance.The folk dance has been rising in Shanxi with a majestic air and has been rushing to the stage of Chinese folk dance in a rapid posture.It is necessary to stress the language expression accuracy of Shanxi folk dance and transform the “parole” of Shanxi folk dance into the “langue”of Shanxi folk dance.Today,the traditional Kick Drum Yangko is facing a crisis.Through art learning and communication,we may help to pass on this ancient dance as part of our effects to carry forward Chinese culture.
