A Preliminary Study On The Intergroup Awareness And Inter Group Trust Of Children

Intergroup relationship refers to the social psychological relationship between groups and groups,in particular that the relationship between this group and other groups.The study of intergroup relationship is a part of social relations research,a good intergroup relationship is a necessary element for the construction of a harmonious society.Intergroup attitude plays a key role in predicting intergroup harmony and social stability.However,most of previous studies focused on adults' intergroup consciousness and attitude research,and little attention has been paid to children's intergroup awareness and attitude cognition.The present study explored whether the emergence of children's intergroup awareness and whether imaginary intergroup contact can improve children's intergroup trust level.Study 1,taking 3~5 years old children as the research object,we adopted the minimalist group paradigm to explore the emergence of children's intergroup consciousness.The results showed that there was no significant difference in the allocation of resources between the group of 3 years old children and the others,suggesting that 3 year olds did not have obvious sense of intergroup or inter group consciousness.There is a significant difference in the distribution of the number of children between 4 and 5 years old in the inner and outer groups.It suggests that the 4year old children have universal awareness of the group,and the awareness will be more obvious with the increase of age.Study 2,uses children's trust game task to explore the change of children's intergroup trust level by imagining group contact.The results show that compared with the control group,the inter group trust level of the experimental group is significantly improved,which shows that the group of children can improve the level of trust in the group by imagining intergroup contact.The main conclusions of the present study are as follows:(1)Children's awareness among groups is about 4 years old,and with age increasing,intergroup consciousness is more obvious.(2)Compared with non imagined intergroup contact,imaginary group contact can significantly improve children's intergroup trust level.
