A Study Of Lin Yutang's Novels From The Perspective Of "cultural Integration"

Mr.Lin Yutang has a good knowledge of both Chinese and western cultures.He has devoted his whole life to "speaking Chinese culture to foreigners and foreign culture to Chinese people",and is regarded as the best promoter of Chinese and western cultures.In the diverse social environment and cultural background of the 20th century,he carried out cross-regional cultural exchanges and dialogues through different literary paradigms.and created the works in a harmonious coexistence between the Chinese and western cultures.Meanwhile,all of Lin's seven novels were completed during his overseas stay from 1939 to 1963.In this period,Lin Yutang entered a relatively mature period in both cultural thought and literary creation,which was the most prominent in the whole creation experience.Therefore,on the basis of re-reading Lin's novels,this paper tries to take the perspective of "cultural break-in"as a new entry point,and studies Lin's novels under the perspective of " cultural break-in " based on the specific text of the novels.Through the overall thinking of " cultural break-in ",we can grasp the new aesthetic realm created by Lin Yutang in the art world of his novels,which is the intersection and break-in of diverse cultures,and through the thinking of "cultural break-in" extends,this paper makes an effort for the in-depth study of Lin's novels.The introduction part of this paper expounds the research purpose and significance.Based on the research status of Lin's novels,blank area is explored,and sequentially the possibility of introducing "cultural break-in " horizon into Lin Yutang study,so as to grasp the relationship between break-in "culture" and Lin Yutang novels from a perspective of overall.The first chapter traces the origin of break-in creation,restores Lin Yutang to his life in the 20th century,and looks for the possibility of cultural break-in under the double cultural background of Chinese and western cultures.Through understanding the origin of Lin's cultural identity,we conclude that under the influence of the multi-source western emotional tendency and the Oriental ideological background,Lin's diversified cultural identity was forged,which became the premise of "cultural break-in".It was the blending of diverse cultures that made Lin Yutang experienced the maturity of his thoughts and the identification of his cultural identity in the 1930s,and finally showed the blending and blending of diverse cultures incisiveness and vividly in his writing of cultural novels living abroad.At the same time,these seven cultural novels have also become the best achievements from the perspective of "cultural break-in ".The second chapter is based on the close reading of the texts of Lin's seven novels,and through the guidance of specific texts,we can feel Lin's break-in text construction in the novel world.Through a multi-analysis of the characters group images,the interleaving of traditional and modern thoughts,and the cultural narration of different regions,we can appreciate the huge cultural network that Lin Yutang created in these seven cultural novels.The third chapter is a deeper reflection and exploration of Lin's novels,trying to summarize the ideal breakin vision of personality and society created in Lin's novels:harmonious philosophy,enjoyable life and poetic dwelling,and social harmony.At the same time,this ideal vision also conveys the ultimate intrinsic pursuit of Lin's "cultural break-in".The fourth chapter is to re-examine the value presentation of Lin's novels from the perspective of "cultural break-in" and explore the positive tendency of dynamic break-in.We can feel Lin's continuous and active attitude of seeking break-in in his cultural novels,as well as his reflection and cross-cultural value under the situation of break-in.Finally,it summarizes the realistic significance of Lin's cultural novels in the 21st century.
