In the 21 st century,we have come to a better understanding of the important role the study of brain plays in promoting the development of pedagogy,psychology,neuroscience and other disciplines.And the study of brain has enjoyed more and more in-depth explorations.In this context,the translation and introduction of Western scholarship on neuro-pedagogy is of great significance to the study of neuro-pedagogy in China.The materials selected for this translation practice are taken from Brain to Mind: Using Neuroscience to Guide Change in Education by Professor James Zull of Case Western Reserve University.The text is informative by nature,professional and logical by nature.The fourth chapter selected by the translator/researcher is the source text for this translation practice report.In this chapter,the author discusses the functions of different parts of the brain and undertakes to elaborate on the principle of the cooperation of different regions of the cerebral cortex.In the process of translation practice,the author uses the translation theory knowledge and translation practice strategy to convey the original text information accurately and smoothly.In view of the problems encountered in translation,this practical report focuses on the analysis from three aspects: translation of professional vocabulary,translation of passive sentence patterns and translation of discourse cohesion,using the methods of word meaning extension,word class conversion,anaphora and so on,and closely combines translation theory with translation practice.This report can provide reference for the translation of neuro-educational research.At the same time,by summing up the language features of the research report,we can improve the translator's translation competence and contribute to translation practice in the future.
