Chuchuan Baicun And Modern Chinese Literary Theory

From the perspective of modern Chinese literary theory and literary criticism Construction,Japanese literary theorist Kitagawa Baicun’s literary ideas undoubtedly have a great impact.Therefore,there is a subtle relationship between Kitagawa’s literary concept and the construction of modern Chinese literary theory.This relationship is not the latter’s overall acceptance of the former,but a relationship of variation,dialogue,integration and innovation,reflecting many effects of "theoretical travel".Starting from the literary concept of Kitagawa Baicun,this paper focuses on the acceptance of Kitagawa Baicun’s literary theory by modern Chinese literary theorists,which is mainly divided into three parts.The first part,through the main works of Kitagawa Baicun,summarizes,compares and analyzes the core ideas and theoretical characteristics of his literary development view,and discusses the influence of his "new romanticism" on Modern Chinese literary theorists and writers Mao Dun,Tian Han,Zhu Xizu,especially Lao She.In this part,we can see the similarities and differences between chuchuan Baicun’s views and Chinese traditional culture,and also provide a variety of perspectives for the study of chuchuan Baicun and Chinese modern literary theory.The second part focuses on the influence of Kitagawa Baicun’s view of literary and artistic functions on Chinese academic circles during the May 4th movement.During this period,important changes took place in the traditional concept of literary and artistic functions in China,and the concept of "literature carries morality" and the theory of "Enlightenment" were impacted by foreign literary and artistic trends,and the content was updated.In particular,the relationship between literature and art and morality,literature and art and politics has gained a new understanding.In the new interpretation,we can see the influence of Kitagawa Baicun’s theory of literary and artistic function.The third part focuses on the analysis of the influence of Kitagawa Baicun’s literary creation concept on Modern Chinese writers.His view that the essence of literature and art is "the depression of vitality and personality" and his idea that "symbolism is the expression method of all literature and art" had an important influence on Lu Xun and the writers of creation society during the May 4th movement.However,the acceptance of Kitagawa Baicun by Chinese writers and theorists during the May 4th Movement has shown the characteristics of "dialogue" and "innovation",especially the understanding of "symbol" and "depression".Chinese scholars tend to integrate the elements of the spirit of the times.Through the above discussion,this paper attempts to clarify the relationship between Kitagawa Baicun’s literary concept and the construction of modern Chinese literary theory,and also provides possible ideas for the relevant "theoretical travel" research.
