Female education is an important part of the development of Roman civilization,which plays an irreplaceable role in promoting the development of Roman society,and its educational level reflects the development degree of Rome to a certain extent.As the most distinguished group of Roman women,aristocratic women have all kinds of privileges and can enjoy educational resources from all aspects of family and society,so their education level can naturally represent the highest level of female education.The late Republic to the early Empire was the period of great change in Roman society and the transition period of Roman society.At this stage,the Roman society changed greatly,and the political,economic,cultural,educational and other fields of Rome began to develop rapidly,which laid the foundation for women to receive education in the future.Under this opportunity,women seize the opportunity and begin to receive extensive education,which leads to the vigorous development of aristocratic female education.First of all,the education of aristocratic women is restricted by many factors.As a patriarchal Rome,women were oppressed,Political,economic and other rights were not guaranteed,and did not have the conditions to take the initiative to receive education.After entering the end of the Republic,this situation changed,and the economic and social status of women began to improve,which provided them with material security and social basis for active education.An important factor for aristocratic women to receive good education is their class attribute.As aristocratic class,they obtain more educational resources than other class women,which is the main reason why most aristocratic women have high education level.Secondly,there are many ways for aristocratic women to receive education,and the knowledge obtained under different ways is different.Family education is the main way for women to receive education,which can be divided into pre-marital and post-marital education,which are provided by parents and husbands respectively,mainly teaching basic knowledge and simple advanced knowledge.Private education is an important source,tutors provide better education for women,teaching mostly grammar,rhetoric and other knowledge.Public places such as banquets and theatres have greatly expanded the channels for women to receive education and made their education more diversified.Finally,the content of aristocratic women's education is very rich.There are moral education,cultural education and art education.Moral education is the core content and the main content of women's education.The development of Roman women's education can not be separated from the traditional values of Roman society.Therefore,the moral education of women is particularly important.The content of cultural education and art education is an important part.Cultural education includes poetry,prose,philosophy and so on.Art education is composed of singing and dancing.It can be seen that its educational content is more comprehensive.The education of Roman aristocratic women reached a very high level in the ancient Mediterranean region.As a model of ancient civilization,Rome has made great progress in education,leaving many valuable wealth and experience for later generations.
