The process of teacher feedback is a process of communication between teachers and students,as well as an opportunity for dialogue.Therefore,how to make the communication between teachers and students become effective,make the dialogue between teachers and students become real dialogue,and make the dialogue with educational value is a problem worth thinking and exploring.Effective feedback is an important embodiment of effective teaching.Therefore,the research on the effectiveness of teacher feedback in classroom teaching is very important to improve teacher teaching and promote the development of students.This study focuses on the effectiveness of teacher feedback in classroom teaching research,and in the junior middle school English teachers' feedback in classroom teaching as an example,aims to explore the validity of teacher feedback standards as well as the factors affecting the effectiveness of teacher feedback.Through empirical research,the paper finds out the successful experience and shortcomings of teachers' feedback in junior middle school English teaching,and puts forward some suggestions for improvement based on the present situation.The overall framework of the paper is divided into two parts: "theoretical analysis" and "empirical research and suggestions".In the part of theoretical discussion and analysis,the paper firstly sorts out and defines the concepts of "Classroom Teaching","Feedback" and "Effectiveness of Classroom Feedback",and selects "Humanism Theory","Constructivism Theory" and "Social Interaction Theory" as the theoretical basis of the research.Then,on the basis of the research on "the effectiveness standard of teacher feedback" by experts and scholars at home and abroad,combined with the reality of Chinese local classroom teaching,this paper constructs the effectiveness standard of teacher feedback in classroom teaching,including teachers' understanding of the importance of feedback,fairness and balance of teacher feedback(such as gender choice,regional location,etc.),timeliness of teacher feedback,flexibility of teacher feedback,appropriateness of teacher feedback content(such as concerns,reference standards,potency,etc.),diversity of teacher feedback types and strategies,etc.In the part of empirical investigation and suggestions,based on the theoretical research on teacher feedback in classroom teaching(including the standards of effectiveness and influencing factors),taking the 13 th National Junior High School English competition as an example,this paper makes an empirical study on the current situation of teacher feedback in Junior high school English classroom teaching through classroom observation of five classes and interviews with teachers from five different regions.The survey results show that English teachers have accumulated some successful experiences of effective feedback in classroom practice.For example,teachers have a good understanding of the importance of feedback,strong awareness of timely feedback,and pay attention to the use of positive feedback strategies such as affirmation and praise when choosing feedback strategies.But there are also some obvious shortcomings,such as teachers' inconsistent knowledge and practice,unfair choice of feedback object,insufficient grasp of timeliness,weak flexibility of feedback,formalization of feedback and single type of feedback strategy.In the last part of the paper,some suggestions are put forward to improve the effectiveness of teacher feedback.These suggestions include: cultivate the concept of effective feedback,promote teachers' professional development,reasonably select feedback objects,to ensure the fair and balanced interaction process,pay attention to the types of questions,provide time and space for students' thinking development,provide feedback according to their aptitude,enhance the flexibility of feedback,provide appropriate feedback,attach importance to students' development,enhance the diversity of feedback strategies,and combine "evaluation" with "description" and so on.
