| From the ancient times of drilling wood for fire to today’s thermal power generation, from the initial use for lighting and heating, cooking food to today’s widespread use in production life, fire as a special material form has not only been a basic condition for human survival and development, but also has a broader application area.At the same time, fire has been given multiple cultural meanings in the process of human social development: a tool for communicating between human beings and all living things in religious rituals,a medium for consecrating the dead in Chinese folklore......In addition to its original form and function, fire has acquired some iconic symbolic meanings, transforming from its original natural existence to a spiritual existence, generating more complex and profound spiritual properties out of its original natural ones.Spiritual attributes of fire are developed and changed on the basis of the natural attributes,so they both belong to the original attributes of fire. This paper tries to explore the specific meanings of the natural, spiritual attributes of fire and their intrinsic relevance to the development of human society from the perspective of the primitive attributes of fire, and analyze the creative background and artistic concepts by combing the application of fire in the artistic creation of artists such as Yves Klein and Chiharu Shiota,to show the presentation of the primitive of fire in contemporary art and the cultural concepts it carries. |
