The deep connection between art and human identity has always been reflected in art history, and the issue of identity is one of the most important themes in the field of contemporary art.Identity in the contemporary context has many different ways of expression than before, and it has more and more philosophical meaning and thinking about the connotation of identity. This article will first sort out the issue of identity from the perspective of art history, analyze what is "identity",discuss the initial expression of the theme of identity, clarify the concept of identity, and understand the development and change of the theme of identity in photography from different contexts.Analyze and study how identity issues are constructed and transformed in traditional and contemporary contexts.Including the analysis of historical factors in the contemporary context, environmental factors, humanistic thoughts and other changes have changed the artist's understanding and presentation of the subject of identity. When contemporary Western artists and art theorists discuss identity issues, they usually point to the two categories of social identity and cultural identity. Therefore, this article will focus on the construction and transformation of social and cultural identity in photography in the contemporary context. There are many factors involved in the creation of social identity and cultural identity themes. The works under different factors show the appearance of the participation of current elements. This article traces the origin of the identity construction and transformation of the same theme in different periods and combs it.Research, combined with my own creation, summarize the thoughts on contemporary photography caused by the discussion of identity, and make a summary and generalization of the final research conclusions.
