Considered as a key constituent of contemporary art,the contemporary image art presents artistic expression completely varying from the traditional one in creation philosophy and creation method.New media technology,namely a product based on the development of science and technology,has been widely applied into contemporary image art creation,integration,innovation,extension and replacement,it not only enriches the forms of art expression to a great extent,but also blazes a new trail for the presentation of ideas.Based on case analysis,literature search and the latest relevant information,we understand how the new media technology plays role in personal creation with the aid of contemporary image artists,and then summarize and think about how new media technology applied in contemporary image art widens the boundary of traditional art.This thesis includes 6 parts,the first part gives an introduction on the current development status of contemporary image art,and refers to literature pertaining to the application status of new media technology in contemporary image art at home and abroad,and offers a summary on the basic content and overall structure of this thesis.The second part elaborates the concept of contemporary image art and new media technology and delves into how new media technology influences the contemporary image art.The third part presents the transformation,innovation and experience accompanied by media technology in different periods in the development course of image art.The fourth part centers on the application features of new media technology in contemporary image art to conclude its different production features and displaying features in comparison with traditional art.The fifth part probes into the merits of the application of new media technology in the contemporary image art from the lens of artistic concept,aesthetic features,selection of materials and tools,etc.The sixth part showcases the thinking on the application of new media technology in the contemporary image art;backed up by foregoing lines,it points out that the new media technology not only burgeons art,but also arouse people's concerns on social issues,further pondering the extension space brought by the application of new media technology for the contemporary image art,and heated discussion on boundaries.The conclusion part shows a description the current status of the application of new media technology in contemporary image art,and gives a summary on this thesis.
