A Study Of The Changes In The Image Of The Green Snake In Contemporary Chinese Film And Television Works From The Perspective Of Structuralist Semiotics

The story of the legend of the White Snake,as a famous ancient Chinese myth,has been continuously adapted into movies and TV dramas.Every time when the legend of the White Snake is adapted on the screen,the characters in the story have also changed,and the changes in the role of the Green Snake are particularly prominent.The role of Green Snake went from a weak supporting actor in the story at first,to a supporting actor who played an important role in promoting the development of the story,and then became the protagonist of the story.The change of the image of Green Snake reflects the development and changes of social culture,so by analyzing the changes of the image of Green Snake,we can explore the cultural connotation,social history and ideological changes behind it.This thesis first sorts out the Green Snake image in the film and television works with the theme of the legend of the white snake,and divides the changes of the Green Snake image into three stages:the 1930 s to the 1970 s,the 1980 s to 2010,2010 to present.Secondly,by citing the semiotic theory of structuralism,the Green Snake image is regarded as a symbol,and on the basis of the above classification,the appearance modeling,role function,plot interpretation,and character shaping of different types of Green Snake images are analyzed,thereby explore the deeper reasons behind the changes in the image of the Green Snake.Through the multi-level analysis of structural semiotics,the identities represented by different types of Green Snake images are analyzed at the level of language,and the emotional factors and cultural connotations of the changes in the Green Snake image are analyzed at the level of myth.At the level of ideology,analyze the social and historical background,ethical values and other reasons for the change of the Green Snake image,and then analyze the fundamental reason for the change of the Green Snake image.The image of Green Snake has undergone many changes and interpretations,and the creation of its image has been injected with different cultural factors,which also brings more vitality.This thesis will also think about the changes of the Green Snake image and put forward some suggestions,hoping to provide some inspiration and help for the creation of Chinese mythological and legendary film and television works and the creation of the image of monsters.
