On Li Peifu's Local Novels

As a Henan author,Li Peifu is famous for his creation of local novels.When compared with other writers,Li Peifu's writings seem a bit "austere".He does not pay attention to the innovation of form,but focuses on the excavation of theme and the exploration of content.This paper takes the most representative local novels which are written by Li Peifu as the research object,explores his changes of psychological state in the process of writing in the countryside for more than 20 years.Along the author's creative track,this paper combs out such a clue: the inner ecstasy when he first remembers the countryside,the rational examination after distancing,the bold deconstruction at the right time,the painstaking exploration of local values and the efforts to rebuild rural ecology.The first chapter,which is called the fish flew away after the water dried up,is the self-deconstruction of the ideal village,Li Peifu's rational examination of Henan countryside is promoted from the outside to the inside: he removes the poetic veil of the countryside,and reveals the ugly "scar" of the natural ecology destroyed by man-made,and the inherent labor mode in the countryside deviates from the progress of the times,giving birth to the rebellious factor;Under the suppression of external authority and internal strong desire for survival,rural ethics lacks a typical model,showing confusion of values and moral values;the collective unconsciousness of the country itself as a slave and the double attack of modern civilization have caused the complex distortion of human nature.The second chapter is related to the illuminate life with knowledge,which sticks to the permanence of the countryside.Li Peifu's cold examination of the country did not erase his love for the country.On the contrary,he works harder to tap the value of the country in order to reverse the decline of rural development.He highlights the value of rural traditional virtues in the contemplation of city and countryside,and shows the divine power of countryside in the dialogue with plants and land,at the same time,he shows folk survival wisdom in the interpretation of rural suffering.The third chapter refers to the struggling in mud and water,which is about the efforts to rebuild rural ecology.Li Peifu's attitude towards the countryside is not relentless criticism and unconditional adherence,but on this basis,he explores the path of rebuilding rural ecology and incorporates his own ideas into the novel: in terms of economy,he relies on unique rural resources to attract construction investment,and drives rural economic innovation with new ideas and new figures;in the aspect of spirit,he uses religion to sublimate the spiritual theme of the works,and makes use of moral figures to enlighten people's spiritual beliefs,and flaunt people's spiritual freedom with a happy life.However,these are only attempts by the author,and there are still many defects and paradoxes,such as superficial religious teachings,distorted images of some moral figures,and too ideal free and unfettered state.
