As machines play an increasingly important role in our life,we tend to establish closer ties with them. The source text,Social Robot,is the third chapter of the Causation in Psychology written by John Campbell.John Campbell supports that social robot never forgets the most profound details of people's life, but it lacks the ability to think over a question from the perspective of singular causation. The original text features formal language, large number of psychological terms and strong logic. This report analyzes difficulties in translation and corresponding solutions, including translation of attributive adjectives, and translation of negatives.Additionally, the translator respectively summarizes such strategies as translating into Chinese four-character phrases, conversion, extension of word meaning, negation and so on,with the hope of improving translator's ability of translation and providing valuable strategies and experience for later translation tasks in psychology at the same time.
