A Practice Report On The Transformation Of Attributive Clauses In Chinese Translation Of The Importance Of Technical Education For The Development Of Society

In the educational literature,readers not only pay attention to the accuracy and rigor of the language,but also have high requirements for the translation of the text language,which brings new challenges to the current translation work.This translation practice is based on the first eight chapters of the Slovak education reform literature The Importance of Technical Education for the Development of Society.It analyzes the problems and solutions faced by current Slovak vocational and technical education.The language in this educational literature is rigorous,objective and logical and the author uses a large number of attributive clauses to embody its well-knit logic and professional attitude.However,at the same time it greatly increases the difficulty in translation.Therefore,this translation practice report selects the English-Chinese translation of attributive clauses as the focus.This report uses the case analysis method,selecting the typical attributive clauses appearing in the literature and using the theories of relevant translators such as Bo Bing,Zhang Peiji etc.to classify the English-Chinese translation of attributive clauses into three categories: restrictive attributive clauses,non-restrictive attributive clauses and the attributive clause with the function of adverbial.Based on the translation strategy of attributive clauses of Feng Qinghua,Zhang Peiji,Sun Zhili etc.,this report analyzes the cases by four translation strategies: translation in the reverse order;post-attributive method;mixing method;conversion.In the research process of attributive clause English-Chinese translation strategy,this report analyzes the differences between English and Chinese sentence patterns,the types and characteristics of English attributive clauses,and the related translation strategies used in this report,aiming at making a contribution for the research and development of attributive clauses in English-Chinese translation.
