The Polish philosopher Adam Schaff,an outstanding representative of Eastern European neo-Marxist scholars, has always focused on the emancipation of human freedom in Marxism. He combined semiotic thought with Marxist theory from a unique philosophical perspective, and officially started the theoretical study of European Marxist semiotics.Schaff's semiotic thought is very clear.Based on the theoretical basis of Marxism,he formed a type theory of symbolic communication and a theory of meaning of symbolic situations, and made a detailed analysis of the overall crisis of capitalism from the critical perspective of semiology, expounds the problem of validity in the process of human social interaction, and tries to establish a real and effective social interaction.Schaff's thinking about the meaning of symbols from the perspective of people's social interaction embodies profound social criticism, and at the same time, exploring the real and effective communication essence is the unremitting pursuit of the humanitarian spirit. In a word,Schaff's semiotic thought is a creative combination of Marxist theory and semiotic thought, starting from philosophical social criticism to explore real social interaction, with individual people as the core,in order to achieve the freedom and liberation of human communication, embodies the social integrity and objective practice of semiotics, and further deepens and develops the ideological content of Marxist theory.
