Yasunari Kawabata(1899-1972),a Japanese writer of the new sensation school,is a "leading" figure in Japanese literature. He won the Nobel Prize for literature in 1968,which occupies a very important position in the Japanese literary world and even the world literary world. His work "Izu dancer" is deeply loved by readers and widely concerned and studied by academic circles."Izu dancer" is based on Yasunari Kawabata's personal experience of Izu's travel. It is one of Yasunari Kawabata 's most distinctive works in his early days. This work shows the pure friendship between the protagonist and Izu dancer, and also contains the dual growth of the protagonist and the author Yasunari Kawabata.Based on the analysis of the text of Izu dancer, this study discusses the analysis, summary and reflection of the work on the theme of growth from the perspective of initiation novel. This paper mainly includes three parts. The first part is the introduction. This paper puts forward the origin of this study, expounds the significance of this study, combs the research status of Izu dancer at home and abroad in detail, and clarifies the ideas and methods of this study. The second part is the main body, including three chapters. The first chapter starts with the rise of initiation stories, and defines the theme of initiation and the definition of initiation stories on the basis of integrating the views of well-known scholars at home and abroad.Secondly,it analyzes the five characteristics of Bildungsroman. Finally, based on the basic characteristics of initiation novels and the text of Izu dancer, this paper points out the feasibility of Izu dancer in the study of growth theme. It can be seen from the age of the protagonist in the work, the development process of his own experience, the guidance of the dancers to the protagonist in psychology and spirit, and finally the protagonist's success in getting rid of the orphan's root character and integrating into life and society. It can be seen that the "Izu dancer" is in line with the characteristics of the initiation novel. On the basis of the first chapter, the second chapter goes deep into the interior of the text, analyzes the growth of the protagonist from three aspects: the liberation of orphans' roots, the recovery of self-confidence and social recognition, and highlights the growth theme of Izu dancer. The protagonist in the work is a person suffering from his own character. He embarks on the Izu journey because he can't stand his "orphan root".During the trip,I met Izu dancers and his party. In the process of continuous contact with the dancers, the protagonist was affirmed in the ordinary sense. The green feelings and innocence of the dancers made the protagonist feel touched and warm never before.During this trip, the protagonist experienced a growth process, got rid of the root problems of orphans, regained self-confidence,won the recognition of the society, made the protagonist feel the value of his existence, completed the construction of his own identity, and moved towards and integrated into the society. The third chapter discusses the growth of the author Yasunari Kawabata before and after the creation of Izu dancer.First of all,in the reconstruction of the concept of life and death, the author Yasunari Kawabata has a pessimistic attitude towards life because of the continuous death of his relatives since childhood. However, through Izu's travel, his view of life and death has changed, out of the fear of death, and reflected this change in the creation of Izu dancer, reflecting the reconstruction of the view of life and death. In terms of character reconstruction,Yasunari Kawabata got rid of the orphan root that had plagued him for a long time, walked out of the haze of lovelorn, became good at expressing feelings to others, and realized the growth of character. In terms of creative techniques,Yasunari Kawabata changed from the previous orphan theme to the theme of expressing the life of lower class women in Japanese society, realized the change in the theme of his works, separated from the new feeling school, combined traditional Japanese literature with novels, revealed a faint sense of material sorrow and formed his own unique writing style. The third part is the conclusion.Combined with the text,it summarizes and refines the context and summary views of this paper. The prominent feature of the growth theme in Izu dancer is the dual growth narrative. From the work,we can not only see the growth of the protagonist "I",but also see the growth of the author Yasunari Kawabata before and after the creation of Izu dancer.
