Research On The Thought Of Time Alienation By Hartmut Rosa

The pace of contemporary life is becoming increasingly fast and things around us are constantly being updated,and while material life is becoming more convenient,people are facing a general anxiety in their spirituality.Rosa argues that modernity has developed to the point where it has revealed its shortcomings in terms of acceleration,the crux of which lies in the transformation of the temporal structure of human life.In order to achieve an accurate judgement of social ills,Rosa attempts a theoretical critique by means of the concept of alienation.Based on the Marxist theory of alienation and the socialcritical tradition of the Frankfurt School,Rosa develops his theory of alienation in a pioneering way,arguing that the problem of time constitutes the fundamental dimension of contemporary human alienation.Time directly shapes man's existence,and the way man spends his time is the way he lives.On the question of time,Rosa's idea of temporal alienation is concerned with the rethinking of people's evaluation of value.Time,which is the essence of human existence,has been taken hostage by the will of capital growth in this era,and has become a measure by which man measures his life and accumulates resources,and even itself is deeply resourceful,a total alienation of existence itself.In this alienated existence,man's aspirations for a better life are overshadowed by his desire to possess resources,and possession of the world gradually becomes the fundamental purpose of his life,the world becoming a completely external object to man.This consequence has led to a loss of the possibility of mutual communication between man and the world in which he lives,and to a common reduction to a mere tool in the service of capital growth.In response to this serious social problem,Rosa proposes the establishment of resonant relationships,hoping to use the concept of resonance as a new value coordinate to free people from an alienated way of being,to transcend the logic of growth under capitalism,and to move towards a "post-growth society" full of good living.Although his theory is somewhat idealistic and lacks firmness of struggle,it continues the excellent tradition of Marxist alienation critique and makes innovative development of it,which is still a considerable theoretical contribution;Rosa's thought strikes at the reality of people's social life nowadays and tries to find ways to transcend the current society through the critique of social structure,which also has strong reference significance for our modern construction and reflection.It also has a strong reference significance for our modernization and reflection.
