A Study Of The New Frontier Fortress Poetry School

The 1980 s was the harvest season of Chinese contemporary poetry.The clustered rise of the poet teams has brought a new look and revolution to the contemporary poetry.At the time of the emergence of great poetry groups,the new frontier fortress poetry school which emerged from western inland has injected a magnificent wind into the contemporary Chinese poetry circle.This poetry school emerged in the 1980 s,it is a poetry genre which originated from Xinjiang and then developed and spread gradually in Qinghai,Gansu and Ningxia.It has many pedigrees and streams,spanning several provinces and regions,and has a large number of poets with obvious regional and contemporary characteristics.The rise of the new frontier fortress poetry school in the 1980 s not only promoted the development of Western poetry and literature,but also broaden the theme and artistic form of poetry.Although it has gradually integrated into the western poetry since the 1990 s,it can not be ignored in the study of contemporary western poetry and Western literature.In other word,as the“origin of Western poetry” and “the earliest practitioner of Western literature”,its guiding role is beyond doubt.This thesis will try to explore the value of the New Frontier Fortress Poetry School and its significance to the development of Western poetry and literature in the context of the era and culture in the 1980 s from three aspects,namely its rise,image and aesthetic form.The main body of the paper is divided into three chapters:The first chapter is an overview of the new Frontier School.This chapter is mainly conducted from the origin of the new frontier poetry and its background,the standardization of the name of poetry school and the “new” aspect of the new frontier poetry.The rise of the new frontier poetry in the 1980 s is by no means accident,its correct name has also undergone a complicated process,so this chapter aims to summarize the general situation of the school.The chapter two mainly discusses the image of exotic customs in the new frontier fortress poetry school.The poetry images of the New Frontier Fortress Poetry School is mainly divided into natural images and humanistic images according to Mr.Chen Zhie's classification criteria.After that,the author chooses representative onesfor detailed text analysis,and explores the emotional sustenance and spiritual connotation of the New Frontier Fortress Poets behind the images in the new era.The third chapter is the exploration of the aesthetic form of the New Frontier Fortress Poetry School.On the basis of appreciating poetry works,this chapter analyses the diversified aesthetic styles of the poets of the New Frontier Fortress Poetry School besides the exploration of the aesthetic presentation of regional and contemporary spirit.
