Fluency, accuracy and complexity of learners' oral expression are important dimensions to measure the level of oral output.Accuracy is the prerequisite for learners' successful communication, but up to today the academic community has not paid enough attention to it.As the task-based method of teaching is gradually being implemented in the teaching field, scholars have discovered that language behavior changes with changes in task characteristics or task conditions.Task type and preparation time are typical factors that cause changes in spoken language output. For this reason, some scholars have conducted relevant empirical studies on the impact of the task type and preparation time on the accuracy of oral English, but the results of the investigation are still inconsistent and inconclusive.Adding on,the research results are mostly concentrated in the English field,Chinese as a second language teaching field is rarely involved. In view of this, this article attempts to thoroughly explore the impact of task types and preparation time on the accuracy of oral English production, and further explore whether there is an interaction between task types and preparation time.Combining relevant theoretical foundations to discuss the research results,it aims to make effective suggestions for oral Chinese teaching. The specific research questions are as follows:(1)Do different task types significantly affect the accuracy of Chinese as a second language learners' oral output?(2)Can providing preparation time for tasks improve the accuracy of Chinese as a second language learners' oral production?(3)Does task type and preparation time have an interactive effect on the accuracy of Chinese as a second language learners' oral production? In order to answer the above questions, this study conducted related experiments with 72 international students from Northeast Normal University and Nanjing Normal University as subjects. The 72 subjects were randomly divided into four groups,of 18 people. They completed the oral tasks of "telling stories from pictures" and "retelling stories after listening" with or without preparation time(0 minutes/5 minutes). The specific grouping situation is "telling stories from pictures without preparation time","retelling stories after listening without preparation time","telling stories from Pictures with preparation time","retelling stories after listening with preparation time".After the task is completed,an in-depth interview will be conducted to understand the cognitive process of the subjects. The accuracy of pronunciation, vocabulary, and syntax was calculated on the acquired corpus, and SPSS22.0 was used to perform descriptive statistics and analysis of variance on the data.Obtained the following conclusions:(1)The task type will have an impact on the oral accuracy of intermediate Chinese learners. The oral performance of telling stories from pictures is better than retelling stories after listening. However, the task type only has a significant impact on the accuracy of vocabulary, and its impact on the accuracy of pronunciation and syntax has not reached statistical significance.(2)Preparation time will affect the oral accuracy of intermediate Chinese learners. The oral performance of the group with preparation time is better than that of the group without preparation time.Preparation time has an extremely significant impact on syntactic accuracy, and its impact on phonetics and vocabulary accuracy is not statistically significant.(3)There is no interactive effect between task type and preparation time on the oral accuracy of intermediate Chinese proficiency learners. The impact of task types on the accuracy of oral English production does not change with the change of preparation time.
