Buddhist psychology is an emotional regulation strategy chosen by individuals in order to reduce the impact of negative events on themselves,and it is a positive self-resolution of individuals under pressure and anxiety.Buddhist youth refers to the youth group with a specific attitude and way of life.It is a self mockery of the youth group and emphasizes a kind of self lightening under the pressure of real life.Starting from the theme of "Buddhist youth's psychological characteristics and its influence",this study adopts a mixed qualitative and quantitative research design.In the study 1,the psychological characteristics of Buddhist youth and its influence were explored through individual in-depth interview combined with genus analysis.Based on the six psychological characteristics extracted from the Study 1,the questionnaire of Buddhist psychological level was prepared in the Study 2.On the basis of Study 1 and Study 2,Study 3 make a further study on the relationship between Buddhist psychological level and self-acceptance and mental health.The specific contents are as follows:In the Study 1,data were collected by individual in-depth interview.Firstly,12 qualified interviewees were selected through intensity sampling to participate in the study,and research data were collected with the informed consent of the interviewees.Then,251 free nodes were extracted by genera analysis,and 39 meaning units and 12 core genera were further extracted.Finally,six psychological characteristics of Buddhist youth are extracted: low motivation to pursue success,positive self attention,pursuit of personal subjective value,tolerance towards others,emotional stability,and inner contradictions.The positive effects of Buddhism psychology include maintaining mental health,self-acceptance,reducing interpersonal conflicts and increasing mental energy,while the negative effects include creating slackness mentality and negative evaluations from others.In the Study 2,based on the six psychological characteristics extracted from study 1,the Buddhist psychological level questionnaire was developed,Specifically in Jiangsu and Anhui provinces,18-29 years old youth groups were selected as research samples,through the combination of top-down and bottom-up research path and reference on the study of the theory of the "Buddha",preparation of test questions at the beginning of 39 questions,distribution of the initial questionnaire to collect data,SPSS24.0 and Mplus 11.0 were used to carry out item analysis,exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis,and finally the Buddhist Psychological Level Questionnaire was formed,including three dimensions and 12 items.The questionnaire adopts Likert 5 point score,all of which are positive.The higher the score,the higher the level of Buddhist psychology.The internal consistency coefficient of the questionnaire was 0.822,indicating good validity.The Study 1 find that Buddhist psychology has a positive effect on mental health and self-acceptance,so the Study 3 further explore the relationship between Buddhist psychological level,self-acceptance and mental health.Firstly,on the basis of literature research,a hypothesis model is established,that is,self acceptance plays a mediating role between Buddhist psychological level and mental health.Then,using the self-made "Buddhist psychological level questionnaire",combine with "Self Acceptance Questionnaire" and "12 item general health questionnaire" as research tools,348 questionnaires were distributed to the young people who accord with the sampling conditions,and 311 valid questionnaires were collected.The results of statistical analysis confirm the hypothesis of the mediation model,that is,the self-acceptance of young people plays a mediating role between Buddhist psychological level and mental health.After further discussion,the conclusions of the Study 3 include :(1)the Buddhist psychological level of young people has a positive predictive effect on self-acceptance,and a negative predictive effect on mental health,and self-acceptance has a negative predictive effect on mental health.(2)the youth's self-acceptance played a mediating role in the relationship between Buddhist psychological level and mental health.After a comprehensive discussion of the results of Study 1,Study 2 and Study 3,the following general conclusions were drawn:The psychological characteristics of Buddhist youth include six psychological characteristics: low pursuit of success motivation,positive self attention,pursuit of personal subjective value,tolerance towards others,emotional stability and inner contradiction;The influence of Buddhist psychology has double function.The positive effects of Buddhist psychology include maintaining mental health,improving self-acceptance,reducing interpersonal conflict and increasing mental energy,while the negative effects include creating slackness mentality and negative evaluations.(2)The Buddhist Psychological Level Questionnaire compiled in this study includes three dimensions and 12 items,with good reliability and validity.(3)Mental health and self-acceptance are the two most important outcome variables of Buddhist psychology.The Buddhist psychological level of young people has a positive predictor of self-acceptance,a negative predictor of mental health,and a negative predictor of self-acceptance on mental health.The influence of Buddhist psychological level on mental health is partly realized through self-acceptance.
