Wang Shizhen was the master of literature in the middle and late Ming Dynasty,a great historian,and a giant of collectors.The inscriptions created by Wang's collection were highly valued by later generations and became an important reference for later generations to collect calligraphy and gold.Wang Shizhen's number of inscriptions and postscripts is vast,and the subject matter is diverse,of which calligraphy and painting have the majority.Wang Shizhen's creation of inscriptions and postscripts is closely related to his hobby of appreciating and collecting,and his hobbies for collecting are influenced by social customs,family history and personal fate.Generally speaking,Wang Shizhen's postscripts are academic and literary.The postscript is used to trace the ancient history with records and textual research,and play the function of examining the source of the inscription and postscript style.At the same time,the inscription and postscript embody Wang Shizhen's writing strategy in many aspects such as style,writing style and rhetoric.Specifically,in terms of text content,Wang Shizhen's postscripts generally start from three aspects: describing the object profile,expressing the subject's experience,and restoring historical reality,or describe the collection process,the work profile,circulation,etc.,or narrate the feelings,comment on praise and criticism.Or textual research version,distinguish the authenticity.In terms of stylistic characteristics,first of all,Wang Shizhen's inscriptions and postscripts often see each other between poems and essays.Poems are used for lyricism and postscripts are used for textual research.The two complement each other.Secondly,Wang Shizhen's inscriptions and postscripts skillfully used the techniques of "qubi","spring and autumn brushstrokes" and "calligraphy not hidden" when referring to others,which embodies Wang Shizhen's creation strategy of inscriptions and postscripts.In addition,many Wang Ba presents the phenomenon of dual use of rhetoric,often using allusions as a metaphor,which has a feminine tendency.Furthermore,the postscript contains Wang Shizhen's literary concepts.1.The concepts of "law" and "style" are manifested in advocating quaintness and emphasizing the norms of "body".Second,spiritual thoughts and the concept of "agent" are characterized by spiritual and natural thoughts.Third,Jianji's thought of joining the WTO and the concept of the unity of three religions.Among the inscriptions and postscripts of many themes,Wang Shizhen's painting inscriptions and postscripts show different appearances due to the subject matter of the paintings,and they are both functional and literary.In the postscripts for portraits of figures,Wang played the principle of historians using paintings to prove history and supplementing history with paintings,while at the same time portraying characters and situations in depth through tracing.In the painting inscriptions of landscapes,flowers and birds,natural and freehand brushstrokes reproduce the poetic and pictorial nature.In addition,the inscriptions and postscripts of the travel notes in the landscape paintings involve the interaction between the Wang family and the Wumen painters,and record the way of communication between Wang Shizhen and the painter's "friend circle".
