| Flower is not an element that helps in photographic expression,but becomes the main portrait and strong metaphor of life events such as emotion,desire,and "life and death".This is the main line of Araki Nobuyoshi’s lasting creation.As a famous contemporary photographer in Japan,words such as "pornography" and "bondage" seem to be the first labels that Nobuyoshi Araki is familiar with,while his photos with "flower" as the main content are rarely mentioned.Araki began to shoot flowers extensively and thematically after the death of Yoko.Flowers bloom and fade,one each flower has each own world,all of these attract Araki Nobuyoshi’s constant creation.Whether it is consciously using the lens to approach the flower stamen,or painting the petals with acrylic paint,or placing some dolls beside the flower;these shooting techniques all present a different meaning to the common shooting subject of "flower" –eroticism coexists with life and death.This article hopes to show that through his large-scale exhibitions with the theme of "flowers",such as "Flower Secluded" and "Erotic Flower Bound" in China in recent years,as well as his huge number of "flower" series of works,to show that Nobuyoshi Araki uses " The metaphor of "flower" impacts the suppression and abstinence brought about by the rules and morality,tearing away the veil of hypocrisy and tenderness,and directly attacking the lust,leaving people with no escape.With the help of the real power of photography,he grabs a lot of fragments of real life,fictionalizes and weaves the lust and the perception of life from the depths of his heart.This extremely personal visual narrative creates a feeling and rich illusion from the photographer’s own perspective.These images actually did not depart from the overall context of the female erotic images he had photographed before.On the other hand,they became a cross-referenced intertextual text with a large number of daily records of erotic desires,and their meaning became more complex.If the daily record of erotic desire is a deep rebellion against the "decisive moment" after World War II becoming a rule that Japanese photography must abide by,so as to find the daily presentation of Japanese interesting images.Then images in the series of "Flower Secluded" and "Erotic Flower Bound" indicates the exhibition metaphor eroticism in colorful pictures and glamorous flowers,and are more suitable for artizing the photographer’s private experience of eroticism and death through the narrative method of the exhibition in public spaces. |
