Research On The "cloud Method" In The Landscape Painting Of The Southern Song Dynasty

In the history of Chinese painting,the painting of the Southern Song Dynasty has a unique significance."Cloud" became an indispensable object of expression in the works of the painters of this period.The simple moire-pattern constituted the elements of the picture.The development of the "cloud method" technique enriched the picture,and the "cloud gas" formed on this basis was the key factor for the vivid landscape painting of the Southern Song Dynasty,which reflected the aesthetic concept and cultural epitome of the Southern Song Dynasty.Since ancient times,there has been a saying of "bone method with brush",and the connotation of "brush method" is extensive and rich.Therefore,the "cloud method" in the Southern Song Dynasty is not only a visual symbol in the creation of landscape painting,but also a form of expression of picture environment,and is an important carrier for the literati to express their "temperament" in this period.In the landscape paintings of the Southern Song Dynasty,the unique combination of the application of "cloud method" and the composition of "one corner and one half" created a beautiful and ethereal landscape painting scroll in the south of the Yangtze River,which changed the magnificent"panoramic" landscape style of the Northern Song Dynasty,and made the aesthetic concept of painting in this period changed and improved.This paper is divided into four parts:The first chapter takes the origin of the "cloud method" as the starting point,combines with the historical background of the Southern Song Dynasty,studies the inheritance and development of the "cloud method" in the landscape painting in the Southern Song Dynasty,and analyzes the uniqueness of the "cloud method" in the Southern Song Dynasty.The second chapter mainly analyzes the three techniques of "cloud method" in landscape painting in the Southern Song Dynasty,namely "outline method","rendering method" and "blank cloud method",and then discusses the expression form and characteristics of "cloud method" in the Southern Song Dynasty by combining the most representative works of Sijia and Mijia landscapes in the Southern Song Dynasty.The third chapter focuses on the relationship between the "cloud method",brush and ink,landscape creation,and literati spirit in the landscape paintings of the Southern Song Dynasty.It deeply feels the broad,empty and silent artistic conception in the landscape paintings of the Southern Song Dynasty,and appropriately expresses the feelings of literati painters in the mountains and rivers of this period.The fourth chapter,based on the previous theoretical research,refines the ancients' "cloud method" technique into "brush and ink language",which is better applied to the practice of creation.The purpose of this research is to form a knowledge framework for learning the traditional "Cloud Method" techniques of the Southern Song Dynasty,and explore the deep cultural implication behind it,which is conducive to a clearer understanding and a more comprehensive interpretation of the traditional techniques and knowledge,and on this basis,to more clearly pursue the innovation direction of "Cloud Method".
