Research On The Changes Of Document Carriers And The Formation And Development Of Books In The Pre-Tang Dynasty

Books are materialized thinking and solidified consciousness.They are the main carrier of ancient Chinese culture.Studying the material form of books is of great significance to the formation and development of books and the transformation of academic thought.From the perspective of the overall study of books,with the emergence of new materials,scholars have jumped out of the shackles of traditional research and used new methods and new horizons to study the book system,binding,completion and circulation,with fruitful results and abundant works.However,the focus is mostly on the content of unearthed documents,while less attention is paid to the material form of documents,that is,the carrier itself.The carriers of unearthed documents mostly focus on the form of bamboo slips.The research on the form of bamboo slips has entered a mature period,and other document carriers need to be further revealed.However,in exploring the form of the carrier,we mostly focus on the form,and reveal less about the material power embodied in the carrier.The change of document carrier can not only reflect the formation and development of books,but also reveal the production and dissemination of knowledge in different historical periods,but also reflect the development process of human civilization.According to the different materials,this paper divides the carriers into hard carriers and soft carriers.Hard carriers mainly consist of oracle bone and stone,while soft carriers mainly consist of plain silk and paper.From the point of view of the materiality of books,this paper studies the changes and the formation and development of the literature carrier of the pre-Tang Dynasty based on the known unearthed materials.It is divided into four chapters to study the literature carrier of the pre-Tang Dynasty,focusing on the form of the carrier on the formation,development and influence of books.The first three chapters make textual research on the form and system of the mainstream carriers in the early Tang Dynasty,analyze the reasons and influences of the use and gradual decline of each carrier in different periods,and then look at the generation relationship between carriers and texts,and finally see how books develop and change in this process from the evolution of carriers.The last chapter starts from the unit of measurement of books and tries to discuss the changes of document carrier from another angle.
