Because plenty of literature which was recorded on bamboos and silks found in these years, the Chinese characters used in warring states Dynasty become a hot point of the study of Chinese ancient characters. In particular, the characters recorded on bamboos and silks used in Chu Dynasty are got at large attention by specialists due to their large quantity and lots of font style. Up to now, the achievement of the study of Chu characters mostly focus on the interpretation, the literature, etc. But there is still less treatise which takes current different kinds Chu literature as a complete system to study the Chu characters, and the comprehension of whole feature and inner difference of Chu characters which was recorded on bamboos and silks is still scattered and staying on their surface.So my thesis analyzes the specific components of the characters on Chu bamboo slips and silk books of different way, and finds their inner relation by the way of a lot of illustration and measurable study in order to try to make a deep research from a new view.The thesis consists of six parts and an appendix table.Part one is the exordium, which gives a summary of the current research conditions of the characters on Chu bamboo slips and silk books, and the origin of materials chosen, and the meaning and purpose and research methods.Part two focuses on the arrangement and discrimination of the specific components in characters on Chu bamboo slips and silk books. We choose the72specific components according fundamentals, and analysis them one by one. Because every character has several different structures, we try to analysis them from the original meaning, natural structure and the line, and then we can confirm the different type and its feature.Part three discusses the causation of diversity in the same bamboo slip. In the works of Chu bamboo slips, some characters used in the same context were written in different forms deliberately. There maybe several reasons:the usage of the rhetorical figure avoid repetition, limiting conditions on spaces of writing, etc.Part four compare the diversity of characters on Chu bamboo slips and silk books with the characters on the Warring States. It shows us its diversity comes from Regional characteristics. Some contents are dissimilar to the characters on Qi.Part five puts to the proof on the researches in the handwriting of Chu bamboo slips unearthed from Guo Dian.Part six draws conclusion.The attachment introduces the structure, appearance frequency and the record literature of the72specific components.
