The prelude composed by Debussy is one of the most representative piano works of the impressionist style,which is of great significance to the development of piano music in later generations.The three works from the first episode,namely,"The Wind on the Field","The Hill of Anakapri",and "See by the Western Wind".This paper is divided into three parts: the background of the composer,times and works;the musical characteristics;the finger techniques.The first part,through consulting and sorting out the relevant literature books,the article briefly introduces the composer's life and the influence of French Impressionism to music writing in the early 20 th century.We could understand the composer's music composing conception is under the influence of Impressionism literature and painting,then Debussy began to develop his own unique style of music writing.In the second part,after we understanding the background of the times and preludes,the musical characteristics of these three piano music works were cleared respectively.According to the music materials used by Debussy in his piano works,we can find that there is a lot of similar technique was in his other piano works as well.In the third part,the performance difficulties in these three works was found and discussed.There are several technical difficulties and practicing suggestions for the piano player,so as to the players could express the music properly.The similar skills are often used in the other piano works by Debussy,and the music styles of these three works are totally different,including the several natural scenes such as continuous wind,beautiful hills,fierce storms and so on.Therefore,these three piano works are representative in style and these are worth of researching.
