As one of the most widely used languages in the world,English has become an important tool for international communication and the exchanges of scientific and cultural.Learning and using English is of great significance for absorbing and spreading culture.How to better implement language ability goals,learning ability goals,cultural awareness goals and thinking quality goals in the process of teaching English is a problem that English educators must think about.The concept of English learning activities is helpful to implement the core literacy requirements of English subjects and develop students' comprehensive language ability.This research is based on constructivist learning theory,educational goal classification theory and "learning by doing" theory,using the teaching concept of English learning activity view,and using the method of action research to conduct research.Following the basic steps of action research,there are two rounds of action research.The first round of action research focused on the question of "how to infiltrate the concept of learning activities in the teaching of English reading in the upper grades of primary schools",and selected the second volume of the fifth grade "Unit2 My Favorite season" as the teaching content to design and carry out teaching,and constantly reflect on the practice process.The second round of action research is to adjust and improve the practice of the first round of research,continue to pay attention to the application of the learning activity concept in reading teaching,and select the fifth grade second volume "Unit6 Work quietly!" as the second round of design and practice content.Get further practical experience in the application of English learning activity concept to reading teaching process.After the two rounds of action research,this study reflects on the teaching design,teaching practice and teaching evaluation in the process of action research as a whole.After reflection and summarization,this study draws the following conclusions: The teaching of English reading in the upper grades of primary school based on the concept of English learning activities has teaching advantages.Specifically,it can be divided into: 1.Under the guidance of the English learning activity concept,the teaching of reading in the upper part of the primary school is conducive to the implementation of the core literacy of English subjects and the progress of learning activities.2.It can improve the teaching ability of teachers and the learning effect of students.It is mainly reflected in: the comprehensiveness of teachers' teaching design ability and the enrichment of students' reading.3.Reading teaching based on the English learning activity concept can achieve effective teaching.4.Teachers should pay attention to exchange of experience and reflection in courses that use the English learning activity concept.To sum up,this research clarifies the meaning and value of the English learning activity concept,and applies the English learning activity concept to the teaching of English reading in the higher grades of primary school.In this process,the advantages of English learning activity concept in guiding the English reading teaching in the higher grades of primary schools are obtained.
