| Primary school English learning mainly includes listening,speaking,reading and writing.Listening,speaking and reading are the principle aspects in primary school stage.Learning English reading is a prerequisite for improving listening,speaking and writing in these skills.Therefore,it is necessary to improve the ability of English reading in order to better master the skills of English listening,speaking and writing in primary school.As an English teacher in primary school,we should take that students learn to learn English reading as one of the important teaching objectives.But in the author’s observation,she found that the current teaching of English reading in primary school lack of effective teaching methods,and there are many problems.As an important theory in the teaching of English reading,schema theory can play a certain role in enhancing students’ reading ability.However,there are few applications of schema theory about the teaching of English reading in primary school at present.Therefore,in order to better promote the development of the teaching about English reading in primary school and expand the thinking of primary school English reading teaching,this study applies the schema theory to the teaching of English reading and constantly improves the teaching of English reading through action research.This study is divided into four parts according to contents.The first part is the introduction,which mainly expounds the value and significance of applying schema theory in the teaching of English reading in primary schools and the design of action research.The second part is the process of action research,mainly includes: the first chapter,using interviews and English reading test of students to understand the current situation of primary school English reading teaching,and develop a plan of action according to the status quo,implementing the action research,doing the first round of interviews with students again after the action research and English reading test.Reflect and improve according to the result of action research.The second chapter redraws the action plan according to the improvement after the first round of action research and carries out the action implementation.After the second round of action research,students are interviewed again and tested in English reading.Reflection and action improvement are carried out again according to the results.The third part is chapter three,which analyzes the effect of this action study through the changes of students’ English reading attitudes,behaviors,grades and abilities,and puts forward feasible suggestions based on the conclusions.The fourth part is the findings of this action study,mainly from the aspects of the teaching of English reading,teachers and students.After a semester of action research,the following conclusions are drawn: after the application of schema theory in primary school English reading teaching,students’ interest and ability in English reading have been improved,and their reading habits and reading behaviors have also been developed in a good direction.In the process of action research,the author constantly reflects on and summarizes the research results,and has a deeper understanding of schema theory.At the same time,the author also has a certain new understanding of the teaching of English reading in primary school,which is conducive to the future English teaching.It can be seen that schema theory plays a certain role in expanding the teaching ideas of English reading in primary schools.However,due to various reasons,there are still many deficiencies in this study,and the author hope to do better in-depth research in the future teaching.This study has certain reference significance to expand the thinking of the teaching of English reading in primary school,and has promotion value in the actual operation process. |
