Singapore has followed the principle of pragmatic diplomacy since its founding, and its China policy is flexible and changeable in accordance with the domestic and international situation.along with the implementation of the US "Asia-Pacific Rebalancing Strategy",Singapore has responded positively, its China policy has gradually become tougher.Singapore has taken measures in various aspects of politics and economy in an attempt to balance China’s influence in Southeast Asia. And by strengthening the U.S.military and economic dominance in Southeast Asia,to balance the potential threat of China’s re-emergence.After China-Singapore relations fell to the bottom in 2016,Singapore gradually began to show goodwill to China in an effort to improve China-Singapore relations. This article sorts out the relevant events of Singapore’s China policy from 2013 to 2019,and categorizes related incidents into two aspects: negative to China and positive to China. This article believes that both foreign and domestic factors have had an impact on the formulation of Singapore’s China policy. The US’s "Asia-Pacific rebalancing" strategy has led to a gradual imbalance in Singapore’s China policy. The contraction of Trump’s foreign strategy and the increase of China’s power have caused Singapore to correct its China policy. The legitimacy of domestic governance and the fragility of small countries have made foreign factors more strongly influence the formulation of Singapore’s China policy.Looking to the future, facing a big country like China,Singapore will give full play to the power of ASEAN regional integration and enhance its right to speak in the process of interacting with China.
