The social transformation process of modern Switzerland has some particularity in the whole European continent.Marx mentioned Switzerland many times in articles or letters,Engels had been to Switzerland four times and participated in the Swiss workers' socialist movement.He also made a lot of comments on the social situation of Switzerland at that time.Especially,the revelation of the various political life of the traditional old Switzerland,and the criticism of the traditional old Swiss people who keep the old and refuse to change.Marx and Engels not only made positive affirmation to the modern Swiss workers movement,but also made important comments on the neutrality of Switzerland,the advancement and limitation of Swiss bourgeoisie.The first part introduces the background of the formation of Marx and Engels' thought of social change in modern Switzerland.First of all,understanding the basic historical background of modern Switzerland is the basis and premise of understanding Marx and Engels' thoughts of social change in modern Switzerland.Secondly,Switzerland in the mid-19 th century has its own particularity,so we should focus on it.Finally,there are reasons for Marx and Engels to pay attention to Switzerland,and the important relationship between Marx and Engels and Switzerland is explored.The emergence of this thought is not only determined by the situation of modern Switzerland itself,but also reflects Marx and Engels' universal concern for the freedom and liberation of all mankind.The second part elaborates the main contents of Marx and Engels' thought of social change in modern Switzerland.The content of Mann's social change in modern Switzerland is systematic and concrete.First,the contents of modern social change in Switzerland are classified and summarized from four aspects.Mann pointed out critically that the modern social change in Switzerland was the result of the internal contradiction movement of Switzerland,and it had some enlightening significance and promoting effect on the social change in other European countries.Besides,Mann also made a scientific judgment on the direction of modern social change in Switzerland,pointing out that the bourgeoisie was a progress in obtaining central power in the old feudal Switzerland,but the proletariat would eventually overthrow the rule of capitalism,which is the objective law of human history development.The third part makes a simple evaluation of Marx and Engels' thoughts of social change in modern Switzerland.Marx and Engels' description of the social change in modern Switzerland involves all aspects in breadth and in depth;Marx and Engels' revelation of the causes of social change in modern Switzerland is not to show the feelings and give any warmth to the root cause of its backwardness;Marx and Engels' judgment on the direction of social change in modern Switzerland provides guidance for the development of Switzerland in the later period,and its scientificity has been tested in practice.
