In today's society,human development is increasingly connected with knowledge,and undergraduate education plays a key role in it.The curriculum system is the core of undergraduate education.In order to improve the quality of undergraduate education,adapt to the development of society,and cultivate high-quality talents,it is imperative to reform the curriculum system of undergraduates.Since the first research university emerged in the United States,foreign discussions on the reform of the undergraduate curriculum system of research universities have never stopped.Stanford University is a representative of American research universities.The substantive content of its curriculum reform can provide reference for China's undergraduate curriculum reform.In 1998,in order to resolve the deep-seated contradictions of undergraduate research universities in the United States,the Undergraduate Education Committee of the Boyer Research University of the United States issued the "Blueprint for the Reconstruction of Undergraduate Education American Research Universities",and proposed ten major suggestions for reform undergraduate education.After the publication of this report,Stanford University,after years of investigation and research,published the "Stanford University Undergraduate Education Research" in 2012 to reform undergraduate education.This reform is the most important one for Stanford University in the century.Education reform has put forward many suggestions for reforming the undergraduate curriculum system.Through the literature research method,comparative research method and case study method,this article first sorts out the history of the reform of Stanford University's undergraduate curriculum system from a historical perspective,and explores its motivation;second,it analyzes the goals and general courses of Stanford University's undergraduate curriculum system reform,The reform content of freshman seminars and entrepreneurship courses;finally,it summarizes the characteristics of Stanford University's undergraduate course system reform and makes suggestions for the reform of undergraduate course system in China.
