In the process of scientific research,the physical model method is the most basic and important research method.In the past traditional teaching process,teachers only pay attention to the imparts of knowledge,but neglect the cultivation of students' modeling ability in the process of physics learning,which leads to students' difficulties in finding effective ways to solve complex physics problems.With the promulgation of the general high school physics curriculum standards(2017 edition),some new requirements are also put forward for students' physics model ability,which has attracted some attention from high school physics teachers.Improving students' physical modeling ability reflects the core accomplishment of physics,and is more conducive to cultivating students' scientific thinking and innovative spirit.Therefore,understanding the level of high school students' physical modeling ability and its influencing factors is of great help to physics teachers in the future in the teaching of physical models.On the basis of consulting domestic and foreign research literature on physical models,I gradually summarized the concepts of physical models,as well as the classification of physical models and common physical models in high school.I also understood the process and generality of establishing physical models.Method,and gives the thought process of physical model establishment,common methods of establishing physical model,physical modeling overview,physical modeling ability.In order to have a comprehensive understanding of high school students' physical modeling ability and its influencing factors,I selected physics teachers from 6 high schools in the city where I practiced and students from experimental and regular classes in the third year of high school in the school where I practiced to conduct a questionnaire survey,interview and research,as well as a test of students' modeling ability.From the survey of students,it can be seen that most of them have a low level of modeling ability,in which the definition and classification of physical models are not clear enough.It is difficult to grasp the main factors in the complex physical situation,discard the irrelevant and secondary factors,and then establish the correct physical model.Through the test paper,it can be clearly shown that the modeling ability level of high school students is closely related to their academic performance.Students with relatively good performance have relatively higher level of physical modeling ability,while those with relatively poor performance have relatively lower level of physical modeling ability.From the survey of teachers,it can beseen that most of them do not pay enough attention to the teaching of physical model,and their theoretical knowledge of physical model still needs to be improved.Through questionnaire survey,interview and analysis of the comprehensive factors of the test results,I can conclude that there are six main factors affecting the physical modeling ability of high school students:(1)high school students have relatively little knowledge of basic methods of model building and lack of basic thinking mode of model building;(2)students do not develop good habits in the process of learning physical models,and some students even pay less attention to physical models.(3)lack of understanding of the definition,category and meaning of physical model;(4)not accurately grasping the characteristics of the classical physical model,or even knowing the applicable conditions of the classical model;(5)students' intuitive description of the situation of physical problems is not well understood;(6)students' test of the model is relatively weak.Based on the analysis of the results of the questionnaire survey and interviews with high school physics teachers,it can be concluded that there are three main reasons that affect the level of high school physics modeling ability of teachers :(1)teachers are not very familiar with the theoretical knowledge related to model construction;(2)teachers do not pay enough attention to the thinking process and method of students' model establishment in teaching;(3)in the process of exercise teaching,teachers' methods are not standardized enough,and they seldom classify and distinguish models.
