Students learning art in high schools aim to take an art college entrance examination.They need to take both the national unified exam for cultural courses and the joint art exam.As a major subject in the college entrance examination,mathematics academic level is very important for art students.In addition,learning mathematics helps students develop their thinking and promote their development in art profession.Difficulty in math learning is a severe problem that plagues art and students and their teachers.According to surveys,the percentage of underachievers in mathematics among art students is large.But as so far,most scholars' research on mathematical underachievers are focused on ordinary high school students.Few studies specifically targeted math underachievers among art students.Art students are different from ordinary high school students in terms of learning time and attitude.Therefore,it is necessary to research on math underachievers among art students separately.In order to understand the achievements of mathematics learning research for art students,the author has read the relevant literature and clarified the background and significance of the study of mathematics learning of art students.By studying the research literature on mathematics underachievers at home and abroad,we have got a deep understanding of the definition and causes of mathematics underachievers,and then proposed to study mathematics learning for art students from the perspective of mathematics underachievers.Based on the evaluation standard of mathematics academic quality in the General High School Mathematics Curriculum Standards(2017 version),starting from the non-cognitive and cognitive aspects of students,an investigation was conducted on the learning status of students with mathematics difficulties.After analyzing the status survey,math underachievers among art students was defined.Through comparison with the survey results of ordinary high school students,the characteristics of math underachievers among art students with cognitive and non-cognitive factors were summarized.Based on the survey data,the cause of math underachievers among art students was analyzed,and corresponding transformation strategies were proposed.The measures focused on non-cognitive factors mainly include cultivating students 'good study habits and correcting students' mathematics learning attitude,while the strategies targeted on cognitive factors mainly include creating teaching situations suitable for art students,setting targeted teaching problems,integrating into mathematics culture,strengthening the connection between old andnew knowledge,attaching importance to the training of basic mathematics skills,selecting teaching content in accordance with the actual situation of students,using artistic thinking to help develop mathematical thinking,improve students' use of mathematical language,strengthening communication and reflection among students.Finally,through the teaching practice in two parallel classes in an art high school in City A,the feasibility and effectiveness of the teaching strategies were proved.
