Teacher education,as a source and guarantee for cultivating teachers,has delivered a large number of outstanding teachers for basic education across the country.As a professional who is directly engaged in teacher training,the level of professional quality directly determines the quality of teacher education.According to existing researches at home and abroad,foreign countries,especially the United States and the Netherlands,have more research results on teacher educators and are in the mature stage of development,while China's research on teacher educators starts late with less research results and is not comprehensive and in the initial stage of research.Because of China's long-term neglect of the concern of the group of teacher educators in colleges and universities,various professional development problems of university teacher educators have not been effectively resolved,the process of professional development has been blocked,and it is difficult to meet the needs of deepening teacher education reform.Therefore,research on current situation of university teachers' professional educators is urgent.Based on the particularity of educational practice activities of college teacher educators,this research constructs the professional qualities of college teacher educators from three aspects: professional affection,expertise,and professional competence.Through literature analysis,questionnaire survey,and mathematical analysis,A survey of the professional development status of teacher educators in three normal universities in Shanxi Province has drawn the following conclusions:The overall level of professional literacy of teacher educators in colleges and universities is good,but the specific performances of each dimension are different.The overall level of professional quality of university teachers and educators is high,but the specific problems in each dimension are different.In terms of professional affection,it is shown that the identity is relatively vague and the consciousness of professional development is not strong.In the aspect of professional knowledge,the knowledge level of teachers' teaching methods needs to be improved.In terms of professional ability,it is manifested as the lack of practical quality in basic education,the lack of consciousness and ability of role demonstration,the weak connection between theoretical teaching and practical teaching,and the lack of motivation for professional sustainable development.Through the analysis of differences,it is found that the professional development level of professors with senior professional titles is significantly higher than that of junior professional titles;the professional development level of teachers and pedagogical teachers of educational disciplines is relatively higher than that of professional knowledge teachers.Have experience in primary and secondary education and teaching has a positive role in promoting the professional development of college teacher educators.The development of professional quality of university teachers is mainly influenced by individual internal factors and external environment.The individual internal factors are shown as the restriction of their own career stage,the lack of motivation for career development,the lack of role recognition,the difficulty of identity,the lack of self-consciousness of professional development,and the lack of communication and cooperation.The external environmental factors are manifested in the lack of a supportive environment for the cultivation mechanism,the incomplete development evaluation system,and the inadequate hardware conditions of the university itself.Based on this,to promote the professional quality of university teachers and educators,not only needs individual efforts,but also needs a strong external guarantee.Only by cooperating with the joint efforts of individuals,universities and the government,can real results be achieved.On the individual level,college teacher educators should strengthen basic education awareness,enhance education practice literacy,strengthen role recognition,establish professional ideals,strengthen self-research,and integrate teaching academic concepts;at the university level,it is necessary to create a teacher educator professional development community and build a university-China Elementary school partner cooperation mechanism platform,optimize teacher educator evaluation and incentive mechanism;at the government level,it is necessary to establish a teacher education discipline development system and a sound teacher educator quality assurance system.
