As The Times change with each passing day and education methods and models are constantly updated,how to effectively improve the quality of the class and stimulate students' learning motivation has become the focus of people's attention.Many studies by scholars at home and abroad have shown that students' academic performance is closely related to their learning motivation,and effective measures to improve students' learning motivation in class can make them get better learning results.The ARCS motivation model proposed by American psychology professor John M.Keller can help students improve their learning motivation from four aspects:attention,relevance,confidence and satisfaction.Therefore,under the requirements of the new curriculum standards,it is necessary to combine the ARCS motivation model and use effective teaching strategies to help students improve their learning motivation.Firstly,this paper uses the literature research method to study the related theories of learning motivation:reinforcement theory,achievement motivation theory,attribution theory and self-efficacy theory,and analyzes the various functions of students' learning motivation.This paper analyzes the four levels of ARCS motivation model in combination with teaching,and lays a good foundation for teaching practice.Secondly,on the basis of studying and referring to a large number of ARCS motivation model related theories,this paper conducts an investigation on the learning motivation of students in three junior middle schools in a certain city,and analyzes and compares the influence of different schools and genders on learning motivation.Thirdly,based on the results of the questionnaire and the four elements of the ARCS motivational model,relevant teaching strategies are proposed.Combined with the practice of junior middle school mathematics classroom teaching,this paper gives a teaching example of junior middle school mathematics classroom teaching based on ARCS theory.Finally,two parallel classes were selected for practice,and the corresponding pre-test and post-test were conducted on students' learning motivation and academic performance respectively.By comparing the changes of learning motivation before and after testing,the paper analyzes the effectiveness of teaching based on ARCS theory and the practical significance of this model.
