A Study Of Stupid Types From An Evaluation Perspective

With the continuous development of wisdom psychology,the related research of foolishness has gradually developed.At present,researchers have made some achievements in the definition,types,research methods and influencing factors of foolishness.Foolishness is a kind of wrong and inappropriate behavior made by individuals due to their lack of moral character or intelligence,which will bring adverse effects on themselves,others and even the country and society.The reasons for different types of foolishness are different.Only by exploring the causes of different types of foolishness and correctly understanding foolishness,can we reduce the occurrence of foolishness.Not only that,but also by verifying the types of foolishness and exploring the influencing factors of foolishness evaluation can help people deepen their understanding of the causes of different foolishness,reduce foolishness and promote wisdom.Based on “the foolishness theory of lacking intelligence or morality”,this study verifies the types and explores the influencing factors of foolishness evaluation.Study 1 examined whether the classification of stupid types in the "the theory of lacking intelligence or morality" was appropriate by exploring the types of foolishness in the minds of the college students.In study 1a,a questionnaire was used to collect the events of foolishness in the college students’ mind,and to investigate the view of foolishness in the college students’ s mind.The experimental results preliminary proved that the college students divides foolishness into two types.Study 1b adopted the standard classification task paradigm,using multidimensional scaling analysis,cluster analysis,social network analysis to explore the classification of the foolishness event types in the minds of the participants and the consistency of the classification results.The results show that foolishness can be divided immoral foolishness and ignorant foolishness.Study 1 indicated that in the college students mind,foolishness can be divided into two prototypes: Immoral foolishness and ignorant foolishness,which verified the classification of “the foolishness theory of lacking intelligence or morality”In the study 2,we used the mouse tracking paradigm to explore the primary characteristics of stupid cognition from the implicit level through compatible and incompatible tasks.The experimental results show that,the first characteristic of immoral foolishness is immorality,and the first ignorant foolishness is ignorant respectively.Compared with immoral foolishness,ignorant foolishness is more likely to be regarded as a typical type of foolishness.Study 3 explored whether the evaluation of different types of foolishness will be affected by group evaluation.Study 3a and 3b used the experimental paradigm of“initial evaluation — conformity induction — delayed reappraisal” to explore the relationship between the participants’ evaluation of foolishness in different dimensions and the group score.In experiment 3c,a questionnaire was used to examine whether the participants faced the same degree of uncertainty in evaluating the two types of foolishness.The results showed that both types of foolishness are influenced by group scores,showing herd effect.Compared with ignorant foolishness,the subjects feel more uncertainty in the evaluation of immoral foolishness.In summary,this study showed that:(1)foolishness can be divided into two prototypes: Immoral foolishness and ignorant foolishness.(2)the primary characteristic of immoral foolishness is immoral,and the primary characteristic of ignorant foolishness is ignorant;compared with the immoral foolishness,more inclined to think that ignorant foolishness is a typical foolishness type.(3)there is a conformity effect in the participants evaluation of the dimensions of foolishness,immoral and ignorant;compared with the ignorant foolishness,the participants scored lower degree of certainty of the immoral foolishness.This article verified the types of foolishness in the public mind through three empirical studies,it makes us more clearly understand the basic understanding of foolishness in the public mind,deepening the research on the evaluation of foolishness can make the public more effectively prevent the occurrence of foolishness in social life,treat people in a wise way,and deal with problems in production and life intelligently,which is conducive to promoting the development of wisdom research and promoting social harmony and progress.
