STEM education,short for Science,Technology,Engineering and Mathematics education.It is a comprehensive educational philosophy involving multiple disciplines and fields.This educational philosophy pays attention to the development of students' comprehensive quality and the enhancement of students' active exploration and innovation consciousness,which is in line with the demand for comprehensive talents nowadays and the development trend of mathematics education in the future.Countries attach more and more importance to it.This paper focuses on the integration of STEM education concepts into junior high school mathematics teaching design,hoping to provide reference for integrating STEM education concepts into the actual teaching of junior high school mathematics in the future.This paper adopted the method of literature study,investigation and design research,around the "STEM education idea into the junior middle school mathematics teaching should follow the principle of necessity and the concrete teaching case,teaching process framework,design and implementation of the actual effect of" study,in order to STEM education concept and o 'clock junior middle school mathematics teaching content specific fusion cases as the carrier.The teachers and students who participated in the actual teaching of the teaching case were taken as the objects of investigation.First of all,through sorting out a large number of literature materials,thorough understanding of STEM education connotation,development history and research status and other relevant knowledge.Secondly,it explores the principles and teaching models that should be followed in integrating STEM education concepts into junior high school mathematics teaching.In the junior high school mathematics teaching content,it selects the content suitable for integrating STEM education concepts and adapts a suitable teaching process framework.Thirdly,take the "Application of Quadratic Function—The Design of a Two-wheel Tennis Ball Machine" in the first volume of Grade 9 published by the People's Education Press as an example,according to the adaptation of the teaching process design and implementation of teaching,the methods of observation,questionnaire and interviews to obtain real teaching effect of the data and feedback information,on the basis of reflecting the shortcomings existing in the teaching to modify the original design of teaching.Finally,conclusions are drawn and suggestions are put forward according to the problems found in the research process.The research draws the following conclusions: it is very necessary to integrate STEM education ideas into junior middle school mathematics teaching.The junior middle school mathematics teaching based on STEM education concept should follow six principles of validity,multidimensional,authenticity,planning,cooperation and feedback,and the teaching can be carried out in accordance with the adapted teaching process.According to the data analysis results of the implementation of instructional design cases,the integration of STEM education concepts in junior middle school mathematics teaching can effectively improve students' learning interest,knowledge and ability,innovation consciousness and application consciousness,and can also subtly change teachers' teaching concepts and students' learning concepts.The mathematics teaching in junior high school based on STEM education concept is conducive to the common development and growth of teachers and students,and plays a positive role in the cultivation of comprehensive and innovative talents.
