Research On The Construction Of Ideological And Political Theory Courses In Beijing Universities In The Early Days Of The Founding Of New China (1949-1956)

Ideological and political theory course plays an important role in Colleges and universities.Although the name of the course has changed several times since the founding of new China,it always insists on Ideological and political education for college students and is committed to training qualified builders and successors of the socialist cause.Therefore,this paper studies the construction of Ideological and political theory course in Beijing universities from 1949 to 1956.On the one hand,it shows that the ideological and political theory course from 1949 to 1956 is a new starting point of curriculum reform in universities,embedded in the pattern of higher education;On the other hand,through the construction of Ideological and political theory courses in Colleges and universities in Beijing during this period,we can see the construction of Ideological and political theory courses in Colleges and universities all over the country,and explore the history in retrospect.Therefore,this paper studies the construction of Ideological and political theory course in Beijing universities from 1949 to 1956 from the following aspects.First of all,this paper expounds the Communist Party of China's takeover and transformation of universities in Beijing,and set up ideological and political theory courses in universities.The preparatory work for the takeover of Beijing's institutions of higher learning began before the peaceful liberation of Peking.The cultural takeover Committee under the military control commission of Peking was in charge of the takeover of public schools.It made full preparations and successively took over Tsinghua University,Peking University and other institutions;For church universities and private universities,maintenance policy is adopted.Subsequently,the reactionary courses such as "party justice" and "citizen" were cancelled in Colleges and universities,and ideological and political theory courses were set up to arm college teachers and students with new democratic and socialist ideas.Secondly,the key of higher education lies in teachers,and the teaching effect of Ideological and political theory course still depends on teachers.However,due to the urgent need for the construction of various undertakings in the early days of the founding of new China,the number of Ideological and political theory teachers is not enough,and the overall level is not high.Therefore,in order to better guarantee the teaching effect,universities in Beijing adopt various methods to actively promote the construction of teaching staff,such as the independent cultivation of Ideological and political theory teachers,the absorption and transformation of Humanities and social science teachers,the transfer of Party and government cadres to teach,and the cultivation of teaching assistants,In addition,the role of Soviet experts was also played to enrich the teaching staff and improve the overall level of teachers.The teaching methods and means of Ideological and political theory course is an integral part of Ideological and political education in Colleges and universities,which can be applied to practice.In the early days of the founding of new China,Beijing University students lack the knowledge of Marxism Leninism,and teachers also grow up in learning,so the use of teaching methods and means is particularly important.The main teaching methods are theory teaching method,practice teaching method,combination of self-study and discussion.The use of these educational methods not only allows the educatee to recognize Marxism Leninism education from the heart,but also firmly believes in the practice and gradually turns the thought into action.Finally,at the beginning of the founding of new China,we are facing the construction of new regime.The ideological and political theory course in Colleges and universities started in the exploration,which not only won the recognition of Marxism Leninism from teachers and students in Beijing colleges and universities ideologically,but also supported the new regime,established the position of Ideological and political theory course in Colleges and universities,and made great achievements.Following the evolution of the ideological and political theory course from 1949 to 1956,we try to restore the historical picture of the courses offered by universities in Beijing in an objective and all-round way,so as to benefit everyone who pays attention to the construction of the ideological and political theory course in the new era,and provide reference for the construction of the ideological and political theory course in Universities in the future.
