| AP is the abbreviation of Advanced Placement,which is generally translated into an American university prerequisite course.In recent years,because nearly five thousand universities internationally regard AP scores as an important condition for admissions,AP scores can help students earn university credits,exempt corresponding courses in the university,save course fees and time,and even help students graduate early,so AP Courses are becoming more and more popular with international schools.AP Physics,as an important component of the AP curriculum,has also entered the classrooms of international schools in my country.In this context,this thesis mainly investigates the AP physics curriculum and its localization implementation in Yangzhou.First of all,in order to understands the AP course and its development,this thesis reviews extensive literature research.It also summarizes the teaching content and examination method of the four AP physics courses.In order to analyze the breadth and depth of AP physics courses,this thesis compares the AP physics curriculum with the domestic teaching material content by comparison method.After that,this thesis studies the teaching schedule,selection of textbooks,subject arrangements and other specific conditions of two international high schools in Yangzhou through field inspections,and obtains the AP physics test statistics of Yangzhou A school in recent years.It reflects the implementation of AP Physics course in Yangzhou in detail.Then the author uses questionnaire and interview method,designs the questionnaire on the implementation status of AP physics courses for students and the outline of interviews for teachers,to explore students’ satisfaction with the AP physics curriculum offered by the school,to understand the professional development path of AP physics teachers,and to analyze the problems and crux of the current practice of AP Physics in our country are discussed.Finally,the research conclusions are obtained from the three perspectives of improving students’ AP scores,improving students’ core literacy of physics and promoting the professional development of AP physics teachers.At the same time,it puts forward suggestions for the localization of AP physics courses in our country.Regarding the localization of AP physics courses in my country,the author has the following suggestions:(1)Respect the subjectivity of students,abandon the score-only evaluation criteria,establish a diverse and complete AP physics course evaluation system,and treat students with a scientific perspective development of.(2)Increase investment in experimental teaching,improve laboratory functions,guide students to experience the process of inquiry,give students more experimental autonomy,and effectively improve students’ logical thinking ability.(3)Strengthen the training of teachers’ English ability,build a bilingual teaching environment,and enable students to adapt to foreign teaching in advance.(4)Give teachers more opportunities for learning and growth,strengthen teachers’ professional identity,and improve teachers’ physics professional quality and teaching skills.(5)Construct a complete AP physics resource website to reduce the workload of teachers and free them from mechanically inefficient work. |
