Speech is a social communication activity with the development of human civilization.With the rapid development of material civilization and spiritual civilization in modern society,speech,as an efficient expression way of showing personality,becomes particularly important in the communication between people,even between nations.Therefore,organizing appropriate speech teaching activities,giving full play to the education function of speech teaching,and improving the national speech competency is one of the important goals of contemporary basic education in China.The Chinese textbook of the eighth grade of junior high school was officially put into use in 2018.The most obvious highlight of the new textbook is to set the speech as an independent "activity·inquiry" unit,which also highlights the importance and emphasis on the students' speech competency in China.However,due to the dual influence of traditional ideas in Chinese history and the exam-oriented teaching mode in reality,the educational circles,especially the front-line teachers,do not know enough about the speech activities and the value of speech teaching.In addition,the new teaching materials have not been put into use for a long time,so the teachers have not accumulated enough practical experience,which also leads to the relatively low efficiency of eighth grade Chinese speech unit teaching and does not give full attention to its educational function of promoting the development of students' speech competency.Therefore,on the basis of clarifying the understanding of basic issues related to speech teaching,this study reviews the history of speech teaching development,analyzes the function of speech teaching and propose the organizational strategy of speech teaching process,puts forward some suggestions for the improvement of the current speech teaching practice.According to this,the specific research work consists of the following five parts.In the first part,with the analysis and collation of the existing literature research,the author defines the related concepts of speech teaching,including the connotation and characteristics of speech and speech teaching,and the structure of junior high school Chinese speech unit;The second part,taking time and space as clues,combs the historical development of speech teaching at home and abroad,summarizes the development characteristics of speech teaching in different historical stages at home and abroad;The third part,on the basis of summarizing the development characteristics of speech teaching in different historical stages,combined with literature research,discusses the educational value of speech teaching,that is.promoting the formation and development of students' speech competency,including:developing life skills,promoting intellectual growth,improving moral standards,enriching aesthetic taste,promoting physical and mental health,etc.Combined with relevant theories,the paper analyzes the realization mechanism and training path of speech competency;The fourth part,based on the speech competency and its realization mechanism,discusses the process organization strategy of speech teaching in the state of ought to be,combined with the provisions of Chinese curriculum standards in the compulsory education stage and the compilation of new teaching materials;The fifth part is to carry out the field investigation and summarize the current situation of speech teaching.In the current situation,we find the teaching problems and analyze the causes.And on this basis,combined with the theoretical analysis which are already existing,from the teacher's cognition,their own speech level,teaching content,teaching organization form,teaching methods and teaching evaluation six aspects,put forward the corresponding speech teaching improvement strategy.
