Function has become the core of junior high school algebra and the educational function of discipline has become the key emphasis.Under the current background,we should not only help students master the basic knowledge and understand the function concept,but also cultivate their innovative consciousness,thinking ability and practical ability,so as to reflect the educational function of mathematics.The function concept and modern mathematics are inseparable.The function concept has an important impact on the development of modern mathematics.Modern mathematics,which is cutting-edge and innovative,covers the achievements of mathematics development from the 19 th century to the present.Therefore,this study explores infiltrating modern mathematics thought into junior high school function teaching.Because the function in junior high school is rich in content,the research scope is reduced to the quadratic function unit.The following main points are studied in this thesis:(1)How to infiltrate the modern mathematics thought into the quadratic function teaching in junior high school? What should be considered when designing the teaching process?(2)Does the teaching design of quadratic function with the infiltration of modern mathematics thought affect junior high school students' mathematics achievement?Does it affect junior high school students' understanding of the concept of function? If so,what are the differences?(3)Does the teaching design of quadratic function with the infiltration of modern mathematics thought affect junior high school students' interest in mathematics learning?This study adopts the methods of quasi experimental research,questionnaire and interview.Fifty students from two classes in grade three of a junior high school in Shanghai were selected as the experimental subjects.First,the teaching design of quadratic function with the infiltration of modern mathematics thought was finished after understanding the students' basic information and referring to the teaching materials of Shanghai Education Press.Then the experiment was carried out.The experimental class was taught with the specific design of this study,and the control class was taught the conventional method.In order to explore the influence of quadratic function teaching design with the infiltration of modern mathematics thought on students' academic achievement,function concept understanding and mathematics learning interest after the experiment,the results of the linear function unit test before the experiment,the final examination of the eighth grade and the quadratic function unit test after the experiment were compared.The following conclusions were reached with the comparison of the test grade of function concept,mathematics learning interest questionnaire and interviews.(1)In order to infiltrate the modern mathematics thought into the quadratic function teaching in junior high school,we should find the right entry point and grasp the key points.(2)The teaching design of quadratic function with the infiltration of modern mathematics thought has no significant effect on junior high school students' mathematics achievement.(3)The teaching design of quadratic function with the infiltration of modern mathematics thought has a positive role in promoting junior high school students' understanding of function concept,and motivates students to utilize function concept to analyze and solve problems.(4)The teaching design of quadratic function with the infiltration of modern mathematics thought can improve students' interest in mathematics learning.
