In recent years,with the development of teacher education,the number of new teachers is increasing,and the position of new teacher induction education in teacher education is increasingly prominent.As an important teacher support for new teacher induction education,Mentors has also received widespread attention.In order to improve the quality of new teacher induction education,many countries in the world have implemented the research on the training of Mentors.The research on the cultivation and training of Mentors in the United States started early,and has gradually become systematic,standardized,institutionalized,which provides a good guarantee for the professional development of Mentors.At present,our country has not yet opened Mentors training project,little training research of Mentors in professional roles,responsibilities,the selection standard,training problems,thus affecting the effect of the new teacher induction education in our country and the Mentors professional development.Therefore,the experience of the United States in the training of Mentors can provide some reference and enlightenment for our country.This article comprehensively using the literature method,comparison method and case method,based on the analysis of American Mentors' professionalism identity,selection standard,on the basis of focusing on the“New Teacher Center”(New Teacher Center,hereinafter referred as NTC)of Mentors training project,the practical cases to carry on the concrete analysis,summary,project characteristics and enlightenment to our country.Therefore,this paper is divided into five chapters.The first chapter is the introduction,which elaborates the reason of selecting the topic,the content,purpose,significance of the research,carries on the literature review,defines the core concepts,explains the research methods adopted in the text.The second chapter analyzes the identity,professional quality and selection criteria of the Mentors in the United States.The third chapter introduces the background,policy,theoretical basis,funding,evaluation system of the Mentor training program of “New Teacher Center” in the United States.The fourth chapter takes Connecticut,Maryland,New York as practice cases to further analyze how the“New Teacher Center”cooperates with states to implement the training guidance for Mentors.The fifth chapter analyzes and summarizes the characteristics of the Mentors training of the American and its enlightenment to our country.
