There are a large number of concepts in middle school biology textbooks and they are difficult to distinguish.Many students will have problems such as ambiguous concepts and confused relations between concepts.The use of concept map in teaching can help students solve the problem of learning biological concepts.The hierarchical structure of concept map is helpful for students to clarify the framework system among concepts,and the connections and connectives between concepts can assist students to understand the structure and logical relations between concepts.The ISM method(Interpretative Structural Modeling,ISM)can form the complex knowledge network framework into a multi-level and well-structured explanatory structure model through the calculation of the accessible matrix,so as to present the hierarchical structure and relation direction of knowledge.Therefore,this study attempts to construct a concept map based on ISM method and apply it to biology teaching in high school.On the basis of literature research,this paper first searched and sorted out the books and literature on the application of concept map in biology teaching and the application of ISM method in teaching,so as to provide relevant basis for the application of concept map constructed by ISM method in biology teaching.Then,by using the interview method,this paper investigated the status quo and existing problems of the use of concept map by biology teachers.The results showed that teachers were prone to concept omission,confusion of concept hierarchy and wrong pointing of relationship between concepts when constructing concept map.To sum up,the author uses ISM method to construct concept map,in order to improve the use effect of concept map.Finally,the author designs teaching experiments to test the teaching effect of the concept map constructed based on ISM method and the common concept map.After the teaching experiment,the interview results of teachers showed that the ISM method avoided the mistakes caused by subjective factors in the production of concept maps,effectively solved the problems encountered by teachers in the production of concept maps,and made the hierarchical structure and formation relationship among concepts clearer.The concept map based on ISM method can help determine the teaching sequence of biology.According to the analysis of the questionnaire results of the experimental class and the control class,most of the students believe that compared with the ordinary concept map,the concept map constructed based on ISM method can better understand and master the concepts of biology,and can better help students understand and remember the concepts of biology.
