The difficulty of university technology transfer has become a chronic disease hindering the development of innovation in China. In recent years, the number of patent applications and authorizations in China's universities continues to rise, and the R&D expenditure continues to grow. But from the actual situation,it is common that the scientific and technological achievements of universities are out of touch with the market, and the conversion rate of scientific and technological achievements is only 5%.A large amount of scientific and technological achievements are "locked in the boudoir without recognition",resulting in a huge consumption of scientific and technological resources. The participation of alumni provides a referential solution to this problem.University technology transfer is a systematic project, which needs the control of technology, market, economy, management and other aspects.Alumni know their alma mater, understand the market, have networks, and have a deep complex with their alma mater, which is priceless for university technology transfer. In reality, foreign countries have more mature experience in alumni participation in university technology transfer.Although many universities in China have carried out positive attempts around this, the theoretical and practical exploration of alumni participation in university technology transfer is still superficial, and the difficulty of university technology transfer is still deep-rooted.How to better guide alumni to participate in university technology transfer has become an innovative mode to solve the problem of university technology transfer in China, which is of great significance to improve the performance of university technology transfer. Therefore, based on social capital theory, this paper uses grounded theory to explore the factors that affect alumni participation in university technology transfer; This paper analyzes the action mechanism of influencing factors, clarifies the structural relationship among influencing factors by using interpretative structural model(ISM),and focuses on the key factor “income distribution”;This paper uses multi case study to verify and supplement the influencing factors and action mechanism of alumni participation in university technology transfer. On the basis of literature research, this paper uses grounded theory, investigation research, case study and other methods to draw the following conclusions:(1)Based on the constructed influencing factors model of alumni participation in university technology transfer, the influencing factors of alumni participation in university technology transfer are mainly divided into three dimensions: cognition, relationship and structure,And the three dimensions of factors through different ways affect alumni to participate in university technology transfer.(2)In the structural relationship of influencing factors of alumni participation in university technology transfer, norm is the direct factor influencing alumni participation in university technology transfer, association is the indirect factor, cooperation is the basic factor, and reciprocity is the fundamental factor.(3)Alumni participation in university technology transfer is a process of tripartite cooperative game, and each participant uses the income of technology transfer to realize their own interests.Based on social capital theory, this paper makes an exploratory study of the influencing factors and action mechanism of alumni participation in university technology transfer, which provides a unique research perspective for university technology transfer research to a certain extent.Meanwhile, through multiple case studies, this paper verifies and supplements the influencing factors and action mechanism of alumni participation in university technology transfer, and provides reference for the practice of guiding alumni to participate in university technology transfer.
