The definition of teaching is the common activity of teaching and learning between teachers and students based on the content of the course.Therefore,in the two aspects of teacher teaching and student learning,we should learn from some advanced theories and combine theory with practice to achieve Teaching activities are more scientific and effective.The most important chapters in high school mathematics include the conic section,which combines algebra and geometry to highlight algebraic methods to solve geometric problems.In this way,it plays a vital role in the students’ spatial thinking ability,logical reasoning ability,mathematical computing ability and abstract ability.According to some characteristics of the conic curve,the author applies the theory of variation to the concept teaching of conic curves.It can help students better grasp the essential characteristics of conic curve knowledge,analyze the differences between things,pay attention to the nature of variation in practice,eliminate the interference caused by non-essential factors,and correct some misunderstandings of students on conic curves.Deepen students’ understanding of the conic curve knowledge framework to improve teaching quality and efficiency.In addition,for the teachers themselves,through the study and exploration of the variation teaching theory,we can reflect on the teaching mode that we are used to and then get some improvement.This "separation-variation-contrast" teaching operation mode is for ordinary teachers in China.It is simpler,easier to master and applied to classroom teaching practice.Firstly,this paper has a certain understanding of the variation theory by consulting relevant literatures.Secondly,through questionnaires and teacher interviews,we can understand and summarize the difficulties encountered in students’ learning and the inadequacies of teachers in the concept of conic curve teaching.Applying the theory of variation to the problems that arise,and giving corresponding countermeasures;finally,conducting practical research and analyzing the experimental results,the main results obtained in this study include the following:(1)The theory of variation can be integrated into the teaching of conic curve.(2)Under the guidance of the theory of variation,students have a deeper understanding of the concept of conic curves,which has improved the teaching effect.
