In the 21st century,information technology has become the feature of global economic development.In the Internet era,the average age of Internet users is getting younger.In order to better adapt to different age groups,more and more Internet products for younger groups will appear in the future.As Internet aborigines,children have a great demand for information search,and the society also puts forward higher requirements for children’s information literacy education.As the most common and simple tool in Internet users’ information search,search engine has a high utilization rate,but the information on general search engine is complex.A series of problems,such as children’s inconvenient operation and information security,are generally concerned by parents.In this paper,through the investigation and analysis of children’s search engine,through develop information search design strategies which can improve children’s search experience,and provide theoretical guidance for future children’s search engine design.Metacognition is the core ability to solve problems,which can greatly promote information search.This study first conducted a theoretical research on metacognition,explored the application of metacognition in the field of information search,concluded that metacognition can effectively promote children to carry out information search activities,and determined the research direction of children’s search engine interface design strategy from the perspective of metacognition.After that,through literature research and case analysis,we learned the design status of the existing children’s search engine,laid the foundation for the extraction of information search influencing factors,and provided research guidance for the interface design strategy by summarizing the design characteristics and key factors.Then,from the perspective of metacognition,this paper carries out research and Analysis on the information search of primary school students in China.By means of questionnaire survey and field observation,it has insight into the cognitive and behavioral characteristics in the search process,deeply analyzes the relationship between metacognition and children’s information search,extracts the influencing factors,and derives three core design goals.Then through the card classification and literature index to screen the relevant influencing factors to determine the core three-level factors,and put forward the corresponding evaluation index according to the user needs,construct the framework model KES-C of children’s search engine design from the perspective of metacognition.The first level elements in the framework are metacognitive three elements,including several second level elements,including self cognition,task understanding,cognitive strategy,goal planning,behavior monitoring,reflective evaluation,first impression,use feeling and end experience.Each secondary element corresponds to many influencing factors and specific evaluation indexes.This paper selects the important three-level factor input mode as the independent variable to carry out empirical research,which proves that the input mode has a significant impact on children’s information search,and verifies the effectiveness of the design framework KES-C.Under the guidance of design objectives,based on the framework model,around the key design factors,three design strategies are proposed,a total of nine specific design strategies.Select the most representative design strategy to carry out user experience evaluation.The evaluation and analysis mainly uses the experimental method for simulation test,analyzes the use experience of the target users,evaluates the application value of the strategy,and indirectly verifies the rationality and effectiveness of the framework model again.This study analyzes children’s information search experience from the perspective of metacognition,understands children’s information search behavior,explores children’s favorite and efficient information search interface,and improves children’s information search user experience.This paper proposes relevant design methods to better adapt children’s metacognitive level and cultivate their metacognitive ability,so that children can act as agents of information search,develop good search habits,and pay attention to the cultivation of higher level information literacy ability such as network literacy.
