In the tide of economic globalization,financial products have been pervasive throughout all aspects of the citizens' lives,and a variety of financial products and the ubiquity of financial information,make the financial risk to the citizens also becomes more and more complex,people also gradually realize that financial literacy is closely related to personal life between 2012,the OECD also incorporate financial literacy for the first time in PISA,15-year-old high school students to have completed compulsory education financial literacy assessment.The primary education stage is the best period for children's cognitive development and habit formation.Integrating finance and economics education into the whole process of primary school education and improving the financial literacy of primary school students will help cultivate qualified citizens for the future society.Therefore,this research aims at discussing the current situation of primary school students' financial literacy,and aims to enrich theoretical research on financial literacy and provide references for improving primary school students'financial literacy.This study uses the literature research method and the educational investigation method to study the current situation of the financial literacy of the students in the upper grades of elementary school.First of all,it sorts out and analyzes the existing research results of financial literacy,discusses the connotation and composition of the financial literacy of senior primary school students,and provides a theoretical basis for the questionnaire compilation.Secondly,a self-compiled questionnaire was used to investigate the current situation of financial literacy of 307 primary school students in S District,urban,urban-rural fringe,and rural schools in Chongqing City.Theoretical research and teacher interviews analyze the causes of the survey results of the financial literacy of senior primary school students in Chongqing S District,discuss the significance and deficiencies of the results,and put forward suggestions to improve the financial literacy of senior primary school students on this basis.The study draws the following conclusions,the overall level of financial literacy of primary school students in S District of Chongqing is in the middle and lower,and financial knowledge literacy and financial attitude literacy are relatively low.There are significant differences in the financial literacy of the upper grades of elementary school students in whether they are only-child,the educational background of their parents,and the types of schools.The financial literacy of non-only children is significantly lower than that of only children,and the financial literacy of students with low parental education is significantly lower For students with high parental education,the financial literacy of rural school students is significantly lower than that of urban and urban-rural schools.By analyzing the causes of the survey results of the financial literacy of senior primary school students,and discussing the significance and deficiencies of the results,this study puts forward suggestions for improving the financial literacy of senior primary school students.The details are as follows:enrich students' knowledge of savings and investment,systems and environments,and enhance students' financial knowledge literacy;develop students' attitudes towards commercial insurance and social security and their attitudes towards wealth and life,and enhance students'financial attitudes and literacy;pay attention to differences in school types,Improve the knowledge,ability and attitude of rural school students.
