As an important part of Chinese reading teaching,extracurricular reading is the expansion and supplement of textbook reading,which has been paid more attention by all walks of life in recent years.Primary school students can not only learn extracurricular knowledge through extracurricular reading,complete the transfer of knowledge inside and outside class,but also improve their aesthetic ability and improve their personality development.Students in primary high school are in the critical period of accumulating rich knowledge and developing good reading habits,and have more curiosity and curiosity after several years of Chinese study.Cultivating students in primary school high school to develop good reading habits is conducive to the formation of correct world outlook,outlook on life and values.Through the investigation,the author finds that there are still many problems in the extracurricular reading of the students in the primary school: the students' extracurricular reading consciousness is not strong,the extracurricular reading time is insufficient,the extracurricular reading content is single,the extracurricular reading habit is not good,the extracurricular reading method is wrong,the extracurricular reading environment is poor,and so on,which need further attention and improvement in all aspects.The paper is divided into three parts,as follows:The first part is the survey of the students' reading status after class.Using questionnaire method,interview method and observation method,taking three primary schools in Zhengzhou as an example,the author investigates the situation of students' extracurricular reading from five dimensions: interest and motivation,reading style and habit,reading time and reading quantity,reading content and source,support and guidance.The second part is an analysis of the problems and causes of extra-curricular reading among students in primary school.Through investigation,there are some problems such as poor reading consciousness,poor reading habits,wrong reading methods,insufficient reading time,single reading content,poor reading environment and so on.The author analyzes the causes of the problems from five aspects: students' different value orientation,teachers' lack of extracurricular reading guidance,poor construction of family reading environment,insufficient attention in schools and the impact of network and multimedia.The third part is the improvement strategy of extracurricular reading for primary school students.From the four subjects of teachers,students,parents and schools to explore the solution to the problem.First,effective guidance for teachers.From improving one's own reading level,attaching importance to extracurricular reading guidance,to recommending reading list,perfecting reading evaluation system,ensuring that students have sufficient extracurricular reading time,it is intended to respect students' main position and give full play to teachers' guiding role.Second,students take the initiative to participate.Choosing appropriate extracurricular reading materials,developing good reading habits and mastering scientific reading methods are of great benefit to improving students' reading ability.Third,reasonable guidance from parents.The extracurricular reading time of students in school is limited,and improving students' reading level requires not only the guidance of teachers,but also the cooperation of parents.Parents should first properly invest and actively participate in extracurricular reading activities arranged by schools and teachers.Secondly,attach importance to parent-child reading and companionship,and create a good reading atmosphere for families.Fourth,the school has strong support.Improve the allocation of extracurricular reading resources,arrange extracurricular reading activities as a whole,and promote teachers and students to learn from each other and grow together.In a word,this study can provide feasible suggestions for schools and families to correctly guide students in primary school to carry out extracurricular reading activities,and effectively improve the quality of students' extracurricular reading in primary school.
